Wolves (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Natural position? Take a look at a 100m race for example - the athletes arms pump up and down not out wide. The last timer Shearer ran like that is when he was 8 years old, pretending to be a plane.

Also if you look closer you can detect a forward movement towards the ball. Shearer is just being obtuse.

Not the most entertaining game but a welcome win. Wolves obviously not up to much, they passed around ok now and then but offered nothing really. We done alright though, need to kick on from here. As for the handball thought it was. No doubt we'll see similar ones awarded in the near future.

I've now watched the 20 min highlights on the website, and I can confirm that the referee ran in the unnatural position with his arms alongside his torso (or tucked in by his chest) in all the footage.

At least he didn't take 5 mins to reach the wrong decision, like the VAR twat at the Newcastle game.

Im in South Stand Level 3 and couldn't believe that corner given to Wolves near the end, ball nowhere near out and I don't blame The Don for his reaction as it was an outrageous decision.
From where I was, the handball was as clear a penalty as you will see and everyone around me thought the same.
Since VAR, refs seem more reluctant to give something they would have given pre-VAR and are relying on their mates at Stockley Park.
I've seen it back and not changed my mind, and can't believe the ref who was shit from start to finish still thought after been asked to look again with the added benefit of a replay thinks that was a natural position.
I've not changed my mind and the fact he didn't tells me he isn't honest and impartial. it wouldn't go down too well at PiGMOL HQ is he made a mistake in real time. If he didn't give it because he didn't see it clearly enough then the video off pitch should have convinced him.

Pep was right - we win despite the different threshold applied to our players.

Got to love Pep, he is getting better and better with the press conferences. Having a go at rag infested pgmol, and in particular webb, so funny. What a fantastic bloke.
Yes love him to bits he’s the goat. Takshite are doing their best with the red cartel saying pep is finished bollocks. Give pep the freedom of the city. Bernardo what a workhorse he really is.

Their fans were proper small time cunts with their shit songs. Use to like them, but now ihope they end up in the wilderness for years. Proper bellends
I stopped liking Wolverhampton Hyenas in '55 when they scored three in the last ten mins after the fog came down. I never saw a ball go in our net but we had three kick offs. I went home thinking those Black Countrty bastards had played rugby and ran the ball in under their arms.

Decent 1st half with some slick, incisive play. Average 2nd half with some dull, slow play. Not sure why we do this, but we just don't seem to want put teams to the sword, hence we have the usual 5 minute opposition flurry of half/decent chances and us looking panicky. 3 points on the board, and that's it.

Fairly comfortable overall, but there was still a noticeable drop in energy and focus after the substitutions, and we conceded a few chances and half-chances that a better team than Wolves might have taken.

It's not the first time this season and there was a situation yesterday that reminded me of the draw in Monaco when we were similarly in total control but let the game drift

Semenyo conceded a foul in a dangerous position but the Wolves move had stemmed from a poor pass by O'Reilly and then Bernardo losing the ball.

We miss the old Rodri and González; we miss an attacking midfielder who could control the tempo, transition the ball from defense to attack, and surprise opponents with long passes that created clear scoring opportunities for the forwards. Rodri, along with De Bruyne, performed a large part of this role. Currently, we have a far below-par version of Rodri; we don't have De Bruyne.
