Wolves (H) Post Match Thread

This was as important a game as we have had in a while, worth 5 easy 2-0 wins.

We've been coasting for a while now, playing at 75%, knowing we have 21 games left in the season if we are successful. Pep's been making a ton of changes, we're bringing people back from injury etc. conserving energy as we play every 3 days.

So to be able to go immediately from treading water to that all out assault on Wolves for 20 minutes, not stopping at 2-1, or 3-1 was amazing. We could have scored 4 or 5 more.

We need these scares to keep us sharp. Pep's Bayern used to sleepwalk to the Bundesliga title and then fall apart when they went behind in the big CL games. We did the same IMO in 2018.

You have to have a few bursts of maximum intensity every now and then so it's easily accessible when you need it.
Well said mate. Not many teams in the world that can do what we did in the final 20 mins tonight.

Excellent win and very good performance.

Their keeper kept them in it and it looked like it was going to be one of those games. KDB looked much sharper but seemed to run out of gas about 70 mins (understandably) and he should really have come off instead of Bernardo as I thought our link ups on the right between Mahrez, Bernardo and Walker were excellent.

Very enjoyable watch, especially 2nd half.

Where did that Mahrez performance come from? More of the same please. Difficult to leave him out v Rags after that show.

Enjoyed seeing how we'd react to being pegged back and a bit of a setback. Should have known better....went up a gear or two and rattled in 3 goals. Mahrez MOTM. Exceptional tonight. De Bruyne wouldn't be in my starting XI atm - we look a smoother, more effective team without him. We didn't create enough until they equalized which seemed to sting us into a reaction. Can't fault the desire and workrate of this City team - forcing turnovers and punishing lapses from Wolves in the last 15.
