One thing that struck me was where they drew the line, I thought it would be from his shoulder because you can score a goal with your shoulder. It seemed to be from the end of his shirt sleeve, so can you score a goal with the bit of your arm that is sleeved?

Ok,cheers. So this is an amendment to fit in with VAR technology, which the begs the next question: how do you interpret whether a 22cm diameter ball has struck above, below or on a sleeve line for a handball decision?

That's easy:
1. Ask one of England's current cadre of brilliant refs.
2. When they say "Dunno", ask VAR.
In the VAR dungeon, they will decide on the basis of who the PL has asked them to screw this week.

I thought the old rule was expressed as below the shoulder, which is slightly different. Anyhoo, apparently now its handball if a defender lashes it at you from two yards and lt hits your arm when it is by your side. Bonkers. The international board are even now considering further tinkering. We'll need a legal guide to watch games soon.

I always remember as a kid reading that it was defined by the line where a short sleeved shirt would end. Obviously that a a bit strange because shirts differ. You could design one that came to the elbow and gain an advantage!
