Wolves - post match

Is the correct answer. We have lost key players for long periods of time.

I was thinking about it last night, it's like fate has decided that because we have a bigger squad we must be crippled by injuries.

Liverpool have nowhere near the depth we do but have crucially had their main players fit, and for a couple seasons now as well.

It's not even close to being comparable, had they suffered the injury's we have they'd be out of the top 4

Quite. I was debating (By debating, I mean being ganged up on by) with a lot of Liverpool fans who believe they have had as many crucial injuries as City. Needless to say, I heard a lot of names I'd never heard of before. Someone suggested that City's training regime might be the cause of our injuries. I don't know about that. Anyway, apparently I'm was the Moron of the argument. It was the same when I suggested the crazy drop ball decision and the unsporting use of it, the over-acting of Wolves players (Emerson and Otamendi), the foul on Mendy (despite his stupidity) and the comparative decisions made yesterday involving Fabianski (not sent off) and Deany (Getting a penalty for being pushed like Mendy was).

Would be ironic but hopefully not. They are the only one of the big boys we haven't beaten yet (though we did them in the FA Cup), hopefully keep it respectable, we struggle more against shit teams

I think the question is whether Wolves go full strength. I wouldn’t but Nuno normally does - even in some of the easier Europa league games. I can’t see you getting a result but hope you do :-)

Behave, eddie has saved us many times,v rags without him they would have battered us
I stand by that, has not been great this season....poor positioning for the 1st Spurs goal at the Etihad, spilled an easy shot to gift Soton the lead, lucky not to concede a penalty last Saturday for his daft lunge at Barnes, sent off on Friday after 12 minutes, I also recall him charging out once or twice this season and air swiping clearances.
What about that gift of a penalty against Utd last season at home when we were coasting 2 up, barely a week before he gifted a pen doing the same thing at home to Soton. His pathetic attempt to come for that corner at Brighton last game was not his best either.
Was superb 1st season, very good last season but has dropped off a fair bit so far this season.
For some reason however he seems to be totally exempt from any criticism on here.

Well said. Liverpool's lack of long term injuries to key players is highly unusual to say the least. The number of long term injuries to our key players is just weird - nothing to do with training methods either.

Because the alternative is Bravo.

Disagree. You can list all his mistakes because there are so few - easy to remember. Alisson has made numerous mistakes this season - three of which involved him kicking the ball to opposing strikers in the box while under no pressure. No-one mentions them because Liverpool are top and there is a ban on suggesting any Liverpool player isn't giving 100 per cent. The fact is, all top goalkeepers make mistakes. Our very own Joe, playing behind a very average England team at best, has a significantly better shut out/clean sheet record than the then so-called word's best, Neuer (over a similar number of games) who plays (or played) behind one of the greatest teams of all time. But no-one talks about that - they just want to revisit his mistakes.

We have never had a keeper that suits our style of play than Eddie. He is integral to what we do.

Not sure I agree with the depth quote. Dippers have Shakiri, lalana, origi, Milner chamberlain,Lovren. They seem to fit in seemlessly when asked to come in and they look just as strong.

I think most everyone appreciates his genius and the fundamental principles of his philosophy. But he may need to tweak things though, no? He’s done it when he’s moved teams before; and he’s been here long enough that some adjustments to his current method may be warranted. And I think in many respects, esp when we had Sané on left and sterling on right, we did play faster and more direct...which also then made it easier to possess people to death because we were up quick and early and they’d simply be beaten into submission, or we’d open them up that much more if they chased the game.

I think most of the current issues boil down to the injuries and him not having the ability to have the right people in the right places. Disjointedness and a certain level of incoherence seems inevitable. But it’s why until it’s remedied i think we need to play with more defensive cover.
I can only speak for what I see and hear at the stadium. There's numerous guys near me who do not grasp our 'Come and try and get the ball off us' tactic as our CBs play the ball side to side (even when we have pace) to draw the opposition out of shape. They don't grasp Pep's often used tactic of going at the opposition's strongest side of the pitch and circulating the ball until they step out of shape - followed by a precision 50/60 yard pass to someone who has been told to stand on the opposite touchline as far away from the ball as possible. That player on the touchline is usually Raheem or Kyle, and to a lesser extent Riyad or Bernardo. A lot of these guys don't understand the inverted full backs concept - they think that every time we get the ball we should chaaaarrrge relentlessly at the opposition. These guys never tire of mentioning their time and tactics as Sunday League players in the 70s and 80s. I played Sunday football in that era - Sunday football that bears no resemblance to the way we play.

Pep is a visionary - he sees the game like no-one else. If the owner had wanted uniformity, he'd have made a move for someone like Simeone (top class at what he does). We don't do conformity - that's the deal when you hire Pep.

Cause we have a difference of opinion or I ay something you (and others disagree with) my understanding of the game is less than yours or others.....yeah ok......think its the posters who cannt take a differnce of opinion that need a break. He constantly goes in half hearted and even prior to the injuries was poor defensively.

It appears to me that its posters like you and others that know very little about football

Yet the consensus is that you are a know nowt..

It’s not the difference in opinion that people are calling you out on, it’s the inability to recognise statements like ‘spineless’ simply make you look a dick and clearly never played the game, otherwise you’d understand the psychology behind his apprehension..

Being poor defensively doesn’t make him spineless, which I can see you have now shifted in the way you responded with ‘poor prior to the injury, defensively’..

You’re just a very odd character, seems you find comfort in being bluemoons very own Groucho Marx!
