Sorry mate, you’re talking about a superstar of women’s football. If she leaves due to lack of game time this will be a huge dropped bollock by the manager.
I never said she'd leave due to a lack of game time. I said she'd never have the chance to fully settle (if that's the issue) because she'd leave before she could.

She isn't in the team because she hasn't shone when given the chance earlier in the season, it really is simple stuff, the fact that Mewis is in the team and playing well, as is Dahlkemper, so there is no bias against the lass.

She just needs to play better in a blue shirt when getting her chance, she is a brilliant player for the US and like somebody said she just needs to settle but is more than likely not going to before her loan spell ends.

Who would you drop from the wings to accommodate her btw?

Hemp or Kelly 1 goal and 1 assist and 2 assists.

or if you think she should play in the middle, do you drop Weir lol or Stanway who gives us the steel in the midfield atm.

I’d be playing Lavelle at 10 so probably Stanway

. . . . . . . .

From what I knew of Lavelle before she joined City, was that she's an awesome dribbler but she's not the best in terms of possession retention on a wider level, and isn't the best tactically. It's possible that she just needs more time to settle in, similarly to players like Cancelo for the men's team. Of course, unlike Cancelo, it's very possible Lavelle won't be here next season to reap the rewards of settling.

. . . . .
I agree absolutely with what Rose can bring, but it seems all our eggs are in the possession basket and it has become more and more a Holy Grail to emulate the kind of possession the men's team enjoy each game, but we need to be a little more adventurous and attempt to put defenders on the back foot and have them scurrying backwards towards their own goal. There were ample opportunities for many City girls to play the ball forwards but again and again it went back, often twenty yards back pass! Apart from CFC and The Arse every team I see play MCWFC just have a game plan that is meant to avoid a double-figure drubbing.

You don't think this is a demand of top management then?

From youth to woman to 1st team all playing a possession-based system?

Mind I think it is a bit trite to complain about it when the men are equally happy to pass it back to the keeper from what looks like a good position going forward.

They lack the pace and power of men, not a great surprise I guess :)
I don't disagree with the idea of keeping possession, alf, but too many times are we doing the belt 'n braces of posseession with twenty yard backward and sideways passes when there are a couple of forward options.

I understand but it is no different in the men's team, they are forever recycling it as well.

They call that football now :)

I have to assume that given the successes of the men's team and the recent upturn in form of the women's team that there's a method to the madness, although I do see where you're coming from.

I thought we were on for a fifteen or twenty nil the way we started and then it was a pretty turgid, monotonous game. Fiorentina had little by way of attacking ambition and we had a profligacy in front of goal. Wonder why Neto didn't get the second booking. The foul on Stanway was as bookable as the first - ref bottled it. But 3-0 should be enough for the second leg.
I noticed the ref smiling a lot and got no shit off the girls. Complete opposite of the men's game.
