They've got a very pleasant journey back. Enjoy the coach ride, ladies. No attacking ambition whatsoever! Came for a nil nil and didn't quite manage it. Their performance typifies too many teams, men and women, who just want to maintain the starting status quo. Nothing better than killing them off in the last ten mins. Have it with a Huntley 'n Palmers bourbon.

REading's game plan appeared to be nothing more adventurous than woman to woman marking. They seem to have been given an instruction that wherever X went you were to follow. It's the dribblers who beat those tactics and Lauren's performance for those three seconds banjaxed the week's preparation for Reading.

But quite a frustrating performance from City. We found on both sides of the road an early goal does for them.
I get the Huntley and Palmer's.

One thing you can say about that game is that reading will leave Manchester with absolutely everything they deserved, I hope they are pleased with their utterly negative approach to football.

We certainly didn't play well, but we got virtually nothing in the way of fortune, if we had the game would likely have ended up 3 or 4-0.

Hemp's run for the goal was the bit of quality we had lacked all game, and Kelly's finish excellent, well done girls for not allowing a robbery.
Yep, a point for Reading would have been grand theft.

I don't sorry, she was wasting time before the interval.
She was, There are balls scattered all down the touchlines, but she chose at one point to walk over to the corner flag, past another ball, to retrieve the ball that had just gone out. Blatant timewasting that is one of the biggest blights on the game. If players were booked immediately or it instead of the useless ref waiting till the 87th min to do summat about it the game would improve no end.

I'm just grateful they'll be miserable on their coach home, they were niggly (5 bookings so should get a fine), negative in their play, and constantly wasting time, completely anti football. We weren't great, but we thoroughly deserved to win, and by many more, but I'll take one, just for the pleasure of them feeling totally deflated.

There are a number of "blights" in football, and reading exhibited most of them in that game.

It is unusual as games V Reading have been entertaining in the past and I am sure a few 3-2 type scorelines have happened.

But that's not the keeper's fault.

She plays within the ref's allowance, so...

Blame the ref...?
