See, I don't think she's off her game, though. It’s a shame to see Ellen White so badly off her game.
It was a mistake to take of Stanway who was playing very well in the second half.
Both the women’s and men’s teams seem to be weak at attacking crosses in the air.
Kiera Walsh isn't exactly at it either, Lucy Bronze seems to have lost her spark too, but there is far too much pointless 5 yard passing for me. They pass more than the men, and they over do it sometimes, but at least there does seem to be a point to what the men are trying to do, the women can make 20 passes, and they have either gone backwards 10 yards, or they've carelessly given the ball away. It’s a shame to see Ellen White so badly off her game.

It might be mate. Some of the issues are a puzzle. A couple of times in the first half we broke through the middle and we had strikers on the shoulders of the last defenders who ran offside for no reason.See, I don't think she's off her game, though.
She's, literally, feeding on scraps and can't get the consistency going on efforts on goals.
For me, it's midfield problem; a part of which she has to contribute, at times, to gain the team control.
Not a cat in hells chance judging by how well he is doing this season.Wonder if Taylor will be manager this time next year.
I agree with what you say about excessive passing and Kiera Walsh not having much impact. Bronze was very competent without excelling, as was Stokes.Kiera Walsh isn't exactly at it either, Lucy Bronze seems to have lost her spark too, but there is far too much pointless 5 yard passing for me. There was little or no threat from Reading, and clearly we had the superior players, but according to the bbc we had 26 shots on goal, and 9 on target, but apart from the goal I didn't think we carried much threat either, and there were perhaps 2 other memorable goal efforts.
Indeed! The thought of why Taylor decided to go back to putting Kelly on the right puzzled me.I agree with what you say about excessive passing and Kiera Walsh not having much impact. Brooke was very competent without excelling, as was Stokes.
it was a strange day and we did have lots of shots but rarely threatened the Reading goal. After a poor first half, Stanway was having an excellent second half but got subbed. I could have understood it more if Park had then attacked down the right like the other night.
Personally I'm a bit disappointed with the two American girls , maybe because of the hype I'm expecting more I don't know. I'm expecting these girls to be running the game , yet I didn't hear their names mentioned much especially Lavelle today . I've seen moments from them in games but I expecting more (maybe because of the hype). But for me the team just look lethargic at the moment and seem a shadow of the teams from the last couple of seasons. Which is strange as the team hasn't changed that much.
I don't know if it's the players or management ? But it's down to the manager to sort it out !
Mewis has been excellent. Lavelle has only just broken into the team and it’s early to judge her.Neither of them were lethargic when playing for the US in the World Cup , so possibly it is down to the system or the players coming into the team system taking time to adapt.
When I said lethargic I was talking about the team in general and like I said , maybe because of the hype the commentators give about Lavelle and Mewis I'm expecting more . You can clearly see they are great players, but I've only seen it in flashes at the moment. I just get frustrated because you know they (the team) can play a lot better . Just look at the game against Arsenal the other week. Still maybe the team will click in the next couple of matches , just hope it's not too late !Neither of them were lethargic when playing for the US in the World Cup , so possibly it is down to the system or the players coming into the team system taking time to adapt.
If we were going for foreign players and especially from the USA, couldn’t we have got a couple who are prolific goal scorers which is what we need. When I said lethargic I was talking about the team in general and like I said , maybe because of the hype the commentators give about Lavelle and Mewis I'm expecting more . They are surrounded by internationals who shouldn’t need to be carried.
I think it IS the system, but I believe it would change results to invert the midfield trio.Neither of them were lethargic when playing for the US in the World Cup , so possibly it is down to the system or the players coming into the team system taking time to adapt.
I agree. To be fair to Taylor, none of us know his credentials as a coach, and maybe he is highly rated by the hierarchy, and we do have a lot of changes in personnel.
Hopefully there is a plan with him, though the plan doesn't appear to include winning the WSL this season now, as we are nearly 1/4 of the way through the season, and 7 points off the top already.
