Next week team sheet Roebuck, Hemp , Stanway, and hopefully a real horrible night weather wise and a lot of luck !
Barca way out the best team , but how many of are so big star players just didn't turn up today !

Lavelle & Mewis signed for this season only but Dahlkemper joined in a two-and-a-half year deal.

As for chances of being here next year, Mewis hinted yesterday that she's heading home when her contract expires. In an interview with ESPN she said how excited she is about the next NWSL season. Could be that I've inferred too much but it definitely sounds like she is planning to head home.

Sounds right. Not easy to replace Mewis either.
 
Got to play Lavelle for the remainder of the season now. If it doesn't work at least it's been tried. Stick her right upfront with that skill.

Good points, if that hill that Mancini built is still there, I’d have em running up and down that all next week, as reward for that performance

Especially when have another left back on the bench . You can get away with doing against lesser WSL side, but away in the quarter finals against one of the better teams in Europe!

It is too bad if she leaves. Week to week the quality in the two leagues may be similar. I don't know much about the NWSL. That said, she won't get the opportunity to play against the quality teams in Champions League matches like she would with City.

Lavelle is a superstar in women’s football, nobody who knows the game can understand how she’s not getting a look in at City. Taylor is only getting away with it because women’s football has such a low profile.

Rose's natural position is a number 10. It doesn't exist in the 4-3-3. When she plays, she is not playing where she is most effective.

It would be like playing Sergio on the wing in his prime. Could he do it? Probably. Would he look world class great? Likely he would not.

Personally I think we've only seen glimpses of quality from Mewis , some game she's outstanding then next game she missing . Rose Lavelle just hasn't been given a chance to show what she can do , can't thing of a full game she been given. Maybe its time City (like Chelsea Arsenal and even Utd) started looking for quality European players, if they are willing to go to places like Chelsea & Arsenal , surely they will come City too !

I also think the build up these players get from the press and media don't help , when you call someone a superstar you expect more . If Sergio did play on the wing you know he would still cause problems for the defending team . How i also think Lavelle hasn't been given a fair go, to show what she can do .

We obviously don't know all the reasons behind Lavelle's lack of playing time , and I believe she has had injuries, but to have had so little time in the team is a waste of her abilities , and that has to be down to management .

She is crucial to the energy of the US team, but only had bit parts at City .

Germany's covid rules bar travel to the UK. Chelsea's women are playing German opposition in the home leg of their quarter-final tie this afternoon. The game takes place in Bucharest.
