I don’t think you can judge the form of individuals on today’s game because, 1. it was a derby and 2. the conditions didn’t lend themselves to decent, free-flowing football.

Also, I don’t agree with you about the style of play. Despite the wind, we were passing ball along the deck and Hemp and Park were attacking their full-backs, almost at will.

Shaw has played a lot of games as the central striker. I don’t think it was a bad decision to play White today, given her experience and the scumbag opposition. Pep rotates the men's team; it’s not unreasonable to expect Gareth to do the same with the women.

I said before the substitution that I would take Losada off for Weir. I didn’t think Vicky was having a particularly good day. And what an inspired change it proved to be. Caroline's goal was an absolute cracker!

I think Taylor has had a lot to deal with this season, considering the number of injuries within the squad. They said in commentary that it was in double figures at one stage, and with that in mind, I think he deserves to be allowed to at least start next term in charge

So pleased for the win - much needed but please City I implore you get a new manager for next year. Taylor said that today was a great advert for the women's game, what planet is he on. He will ruin some very promising players.

Taylor was an average striker at best and has now created a team in the image of his own play. We have some great players especially the younger ones. I look at how he uses some of his non favourite players and think what could have been if he actually picked a team on form and with a strategy in mind. Raso, Blakstad, Beckie, Losada, Mace & Shaw must wonder what they have to do to get consistent game time. For example Ellen White seems to be picked on her history and with England in mind - her club form is truly shocking and yet she is made captain - 1 goal every 8 games is just not good enough from your main striker. Rant over, happy rest of the weekend blues... ha!
I don't think there's much correlation between Taylor's playing career and the women's team. Mourinho was an interpreter ffs and Tuchel had a very short and average career.
Think he picked the right team today and they played pretty well. You can't legislate for absolute sitters missed in first half
Agree that whilst White was a decent pick for today, overall she's been very poor. But Beckie is a very inconsistent player as is Shaw.

"much needed" win ?

We've won 9 of the last 11 games, the only 2 we didn't win were chelsea A, and arsenal H, and you could make a case that we should have won against arsenal, and taken a point from chelsea last week. In the process we've scored 38 and conceded just 5 (and 2 of them were back in early December).

I'm not especially arsed about Taylor, but any other coach would getting praised, on the back of an injury crisis that took our best players for the first half of the season.
Much needed because if we want any chance of CL qualification we had to win this one. If we had lost today it could have been pivotal for our chances of qualification. Yes I agree we've been on a very good run mainly due to having players back from injury but I still feel our style of play has become very negative.

For me Taylor has had more than enough time - don't forget last year with hardly any injuries and possibly the best midfielder in the world at that time we didn't really capitalise on opportunities mainly due to tactically decisions. Other teams have improved and the overall exposure of the women's game has increased so we must always strive to improve.

It's all about opinions and I do feel for the manager having had so many out but some of his selections are still a bit baffling. If we want to become as much as a powerhouse as our men's team we need a better coach but as I said very pleased with the win.

Nice to see the mealy mouthed rag manager, Skinner gobbing off to the press that the referee favoured City throughout the game, with aproper slapped arse look on his face. I have no idea what he's on about as I don't remember one controversial decision in the whole game. They were negative and sat in as a deliberate tactic, his tactics, knowing we had to win. They created nothing of any note and had we taken our chances Hempo created and got on the end of and Park had a bit of luck we would have twatted them by 3 or 4. He can fuck off the rag sore losing nobhead. I hope we batter them in the FA Cup as well in a couple of weeks. Fucking rags, all the same.

First ever women's game for me yesterday, took my daughter who's just got into playing football who loved it...

First off, great little stadium at the academy, and the free hot & cold drinks was a nice touch, but the letting everyone scan in to whatever turnstile they wanted resulted in us not being able to see the first 10 mins as everyone was stood in front of us trying to find their seats only to realise they were on the wrong side (we were front row)..

I've seen a lot of stick for Greenwood and Kennedy but I thought they were both good/solid. I thought Heap was great and White held the ball up ok but didn't offer much else...

Should have been a bigger scoreline but for the missed chances but it could have been even more if they were allowed to play a bit more expansively, it seemed as though they'd been set up to hold on to the ball at all costs.

Overall great day out and my daughter had pictures with some of the players afterwards and was so chuffed!

Having had a chance to think about it, and looking back on yesterday’s game, I have to say, it is one of the most satisfying derby victories I’ve watched.

As I said, the windy conditions didn’t lend themselves to good football, but the girls persevered against some very negative rag tactics and finally got their reward.

Emma Hayes was doing OK until she selected Millie Bright as Player of the Match!! Kiera Walsh by a mile…hasn’t Nikita Parris deteriorated as a player since leaving City? How she is in that squad beggars belief.
Bit more difficult than Luxembourg and Latvia…..

Talking about Nikitia Parris and getting into the squad , watching Jess Parks this season, surely she should be in with a shout of getting a call up ?

I'm glad someone in the female game recognises England need to play the top teams in the world to prepare for the Euro's.

Dicking minor teams doesn't help preparation. It's been good watching how the players react to decent opposition.
