We actually are fighting relegation at the moment. We’re 9th.
Not seen the table, to be fair.

And a goalkeeper who doesn't know how to use her feet to accentuate the chance of saving shots.Least consistent with the mens team, 11 shots and just 2 on target
It's more about the way we are set up to play and that comes from the coach. We still have 11 full internationals in the squad today. A good manager has a way of playing that those who come in seamlessly slot into a system. I look at how some of our players play for their respective international teams and for us. For example Walsh, Greenwood and Weir would be deemed first choice but today offered nothing. I think there is a growing culture around this team that is more focussed on being fit and on form for the national teams. I honestly believe that we would be in a similar position if we had most of the team fit with Taylor as manager. Hemp aside this has been one of the easiest games for Chelsea to defend.I hope some of you realise that we have a very depleted squad and have done for most of this season.
The tactics were poor last season too often without the injuries and with experienced US internationals in the team - do they lack IQ and ability ?No, I'm not.
If the men lost a game with half a B team, the other day, why would you expect 10 players out to provide a better display?
It all depends on the quality of player IQ and ability, not coaching.
Top hand more effective for saving higher shots especially if the keeper is on their way down. There is nor right or wrong hand. The ex goalkeeper commenting on a world class save when she went with the wrong hand entirely and made it a lot more difficult than it needed to be.

This injury list is being used by a lot as a reason why Gareth Taylor should still be the manager whereas I see a team with no real plan and a group of players who look lost tactically. Officially a write off season just as the women's game gets, quite rightly more exposure. Poor all round from those involved with planning.
I didn't see it but the "wrong hand" thing is a pet peeve of mine... If she went high with her right hand diving left, or her left hand diving right then she went with the "right" handThe ex goalkeeper commenting on a world class save when she went with the wrong hand entirely and made it a lot more difficult than it needed to be.
I've often said that when we are on the wrong end of a scoreline we display an urgency that I wish we'd had from the start. I think the way the men finished the game yesterday was far from complacent, and the women today, particularly the back four, will be well and truly knackered! I think to hold a team like CFC women to three, considering the missing personnel is a creditable afternoon's work. What a thoroughly shit weekend.
There's a whiff of complacency after winning the league last season, that is permeating throughout the club.

Taylor is out of his depth and it affects the team / players imo .

I agree he's out of his depth, but players HAVE to take responsibility as well.
Did he not come second and win a cup, last season??
No offence D E B, but that's kind of complacent thinking.I've often said that when we are on the wrong end of a scoreline we display an urgency that I wish we'd had from the start. If the ball is fairly central to your body yeah, that one was to the side and a routine save with the other hand. I suppose she's saved it at the end of the day and that's all that matters. when you see it with the men it's generally a case of making it look good for the camera, probably less to do with showing off for the women and more them relying on their stronger hand.Top hand more effective for saving higher shots especially if the keeper is on their way down. We play this option far too often, and this season it has been the second reason, along with injuries, why we have struggled. We employ safety in the hope that one of our players might just produce a moment of skill to turn a game.Aspects of this I agree and disagree with.
Tactics are one thing, but the players are not robots, either.
Showing for the ball and making the RIGHT decision for passing, rather than succumbing to your natural instinct is an issue.
Not sure that can be taught/ coached for the pitch if the training goes out the window.
I saw loads of times a pass could be slid in, but the safe option for the nearest player always seemed to play out whether the colleague was surrounded or not. That's an IQ issue.
I prefer our midfielders try a risk/ reward pass going through the lines, than play it safe all the time.
