Inspired by the everlasting barm Vs muffin thread (It's a barm btw), it got me thinking about everyday words people use which has the wrong meaning. If you have lived, worked or travelled to various locations around England you will notice how people have different ideas of what certain words mean.

Here's two what annoy me:

Dinner is not another name for an evening meal, that's called your tea. Dinner is something you eat at lunch time.

Pants is another word for trousers not a type of underwear.

People that think they can use the word "what" in place of the word "that".
