Working Christmas Day

Working 6am until 1300, should be day off but am covering the first half of the day so my mate can be there to watch his little girls 18 months and three years old open their pressies

Working Boxing Day afternoon for a few hours and then a full day on the Bank Holiday Tuesday.

I do have my first New Years eve night off in 5 years though but we have nowhere to go.

No thankfully.
Obviously it's not what you want, but at least you all get to go home to your own beds at the end of the day, a couple thousand soldiers can't say the same, that's a lot of empty beds to fill.

my 4 night shift started xmas eve, i work in a chilled food distribution warehouse, so if you greedy fookers would stop eating so much in the festive period some of us would get some time off!
oh and all for single time too, in fact we never get a xmas bonus either or even a thank-you notice (unlike the office staff)

merry xmas bluemoaners
ho ho ho!

Perfectly timed to be crossing Lake Superior on a 650ft freighter. 28 hours to cross, at least the foods decent.

Off work to January, but used to have to work either christmas day or NYE every year when serving, one year the ruperts all called round the guardroom with christmas gifts for us to drink when we finished.....yip, they were finished before the ruperts got back to their married quarters and we were pissed shortly after coming off stag.
