Here’s the thing. The thing is, how can Salazar (Mo Farah’s coach when he was a world beater), be found guilty of doping violations and get a ban, without any of his athletes at the time also being found guilty? I mean, seriously, did he take them all himself? Does doping improve your coaching ability? Just what is it that I’m missing here?

What you are missing is:
1.Salazar is employed by Nike
2. Most of his athletes are Nike sponsored
3.Seb Coe, world head of athletics, was a Nike ambassador, paid £100,000 p.a. Continued in that post even while head of IAAF, until the press said "oi"
4 The next World Champs will be held at Nike's HQ. There was no bidding, they were just awarded them.

Edit PS. GB had an enquiry on Salazar's GB athletes. Verdict: nothing to see here. Whistle blower said :"Enquiry was a farce"

Far from over yet. Thiam could overtake her in the javelin (looks like she is the Belgian NR holder). Their PBs are 59.32m (1042pts) vs 42.92m (724). In the 800m their bests are KJT (2:07.64 = 1000pts) vs Thiam (2:15.24 = 890pts). On that, the difference will end at 5pts (about 0.5 second in the 800m)!

Could be a grandstand finish on this. The heat in the last event will affect KJT's time, I reckon, so if she ran 2:12.00 (936pts) she needs Thiam to be over 2:19.60 (assuming KJT concedes that gap in the javelin).

She is now.

Chuffed for her. She’s really improved her two really weak events and set pb’s in them plus the 100m hurdles. To break the British record would be a huge achievement considering who’s gone before her. Gold is all but hers barring injury.
