If I understand correctly we have the rights to the gold badge until the next champions are crowned, which won't be for two years.
Chelsea only got it for one year, the dippers didn't get any.

That’s correct as per the rules laid down by FIFA but City’s press release just said it would be worn for the remainder of this season.
Perhaps a decision hasn’t been made yet about next season. Or the club plans to wear it but doesn’t want to come across as arrogant by saying so straight away.

I'm getting that Club World Champions badge on every single item of clothing I own.

Doesn't matter what's confirmed, Dippers don't ordinarily wait for confirmation on anything before they 'rage'! It's the default position for them.
