World Cup 2018 | 17th June Matches | Next Game: Brazil vs Switzerland, KO 19:00 (BST)

Contact doesn’t include wrapping both arms around a player.
It was nothing. That happens all the time from strikers and defenders. He didnt pull him down. If anything Jesus got the better of him and should have shot. I can guarantee if a Swiss striker had gone down nobody would say a word

Coutinho is a one trick pony. Sure he's got a great curling shot, but what else does he do? How is he a central midfielder? He doesn't have the passing and control of a Modric, Iniesta or even our Dave.
He doesn’t, but for me he has the best shot outside the box in world football.

I admit that my preferred football isn't best described as dour thuggery.
Most weren’t traditional type fouls though - they tended to be comings together at speed which Neymar was very quick to go down and buy the free kick.
As an example I think Aguero would have stayed on his feet on half the occasions Neymar went to ground.

Pretty ordinary show from Brazil. Like Messi yesterday, Neymar seemed to want to make it all about him, though he did receive rough treatment from the Swiss. The Portuguese Preener at least delivered and does seem to play a bit more with the rest of his team.

Messi and Neymar were playing against parked busses. Ronaldo touched the ball like 5 times the whole game, and pretty much always with tons of space and few defenders.

If I remember correctly it is exactly that type of incident which premier league refs were told to crack down on. Obviously FIFA see it different.

He was a weak referee. If that happened to ours, this forum would have crashed due to the sheer volume of posts made in seething rage.

Every day it becomes clearer that City have a good number of players that are underrated for the primary reason of people not knowing what it is they actually do, because what they do isn't particularly flashy going forwards or risk-averse at the back. Including:
  • Sterling
  • Jesus
  • Stones
  • Otamendi
  • Gundogan
  • Danilo
  • Walker (kind of)
  • D. Silva (kind of)
They'll all be targets for criticism as this tournament progresses.

I should say in fairness most of the other players have more obvious qualities and rightly get a lot of praise.
