SUNDAY 1ST JULY
CROATIA VS DENMARK
Match kicks off at 19:00 (BST) on ITV 1. Coverage starts at 18:30 (BST). Presented by Mark Pougatch. Pundits and Commentators to be announced.
Croatia come into the knockout stages as arguably the best performing team in the competition. They have a solid defence, a fluid attack and arguably the best midfield in the tournament. Modric, Rakitic and Perisic have been the standouts, the first 2 offering an option on the ball and keeping the team ticking, the latter keeping the width, putting in some decent crosses and offering a goal threat.
Denmark have crawled into the knockouts, as they were probably the 3rd best team in their group but they won’t care about that. Beating Peru, drawing to Australia and drawing to France means that they are still unbeaten but they are going to have to be much better to get past this Croatia side. They’ve only conceded 1 goal so far, so they have a fairly solid defence to rely on but their star players, like Eriksen will need to be at their very best.
Croatia’s goal scorers so far:
Modric (2), Rebic (1), Rakitic (1), Badelj (1), Perisic (1), Own Goal (1).
Denmark’s goal scorers so far:
Y. Poulsen (1), Eriksen (1).
