28TH JUNE
ENGLAND VS BELGIUM
Match kicks off at 19:00 (BST) on ITV 1. Coverage begins at 18:15 (BST). Presented by Mark Pougatch, analysis from Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Lee Dixon and Ian Wright, commentary from Clive Tyldesley and Glenn Hoddle.
Right so we’ve all seen every team twice by now, so we get the gist of how they are going to go about things.
Unfortunately this is the first game at this tournament where we will be subjected to listening to Glenn Fucking Hoddle whilst England are playing.
This is a fight for top spot, or possibly even 2nd spot depending on how things go the day before because finishing 2nd could mean avoiding Brazil and Germany, that said both surely want to avoid Colombia in the Last 16 as well. However, neither side will want to lose momentum going into the knockout rounds. Due to big City involvement and of course England, I think a draw would be a ‘nice’ result. A game that will probably billed as Kane vs Lukaku in the goal-scoring department but the win will come from which players behind the striker perform best in my opinion.
Group G as it stands:
Both are joint on 6 points and tied on GD, GS, GA and H2H is yet to factor, so England top the group courtesy of fair play by having less bookings than Belgium.
England Goal Scorers so far:
Kane (5).
Stones (2).
Lingard (1).
Belgium Goal Scorers so far:
Lukaku (4).
Hazard (2).
Mertens (1).
Batshuayi (1).
