With the players available there is no formula. The only criticism I could possibly give Southgate was to not have taken some of the young players like Mount, Foden and Sancho. They would definitely be better at keeping the ball in the midfield area than what we have. He did and I commend him for that, needs to find a midfield formula that allows us to keep the ball for longer periods or we’ll come unstuck against the better sides. I’m hopeful that the future, with a lot of the under 21’s and below, will be a damn sight better than the past as at least that lot have technique and an idea and not just power and pace.
