Agreed but it should be immediate disbarment from hosting any international competition.

Denying entry of referees, players and staff members of teams is unacceptable for a country hosting the World Cup.

The Atlanta games were one of the worst in living memory and the 94 World Cup was shot compared the proceeding and following tournaments.

The LA games were blighted by Cold War bollocks

For the record I’ve worked in six different states over there and loved every minute of it even Alabama. However the current state of things makes it difficult to get behind a tournament which is one big heist and fronted by a dangerous administration which is not content on destroying civil liberties in its own country but fancies a bit of ours as well.

So in short fuck them.
 
Most people don't give a toss, the games will crack on and it'll be a success. I didn't and don't expect much from either the world cup or the Olympics anymore anyway so it's no great loss.

What will you say will be a mark of success, empty stadiums, sky high ticket prices, $10 for a bottle of water, if success is measured in terms of money then possibly but I’d say it would be packed stadiums of fans from all over the world not a select few.
 
I have no interest in the WC and im surprised fans actually want to go to this rogue country. A country that starts an illegal war should not be holding the WC.

Countries should be boycotting the WC.

Which country will be the first to have fans shot dead by the Americans ?

They’re simply not though are they? They expanded the Champions League to fend off the threat of the Super League. They haven’t yet moved matches out of Europe to the highest bidder. They insist on 30€ tickets for the Euros rather than the astronomical prices that FIFA are charging. What have UEFA done that is more corrupt than awarding the World Cup to Qatar?

I’m shocked (not really) that Trump has managed to politicise the World Cup and make it all about him and his mad policies.

Iran is allowed to play but they can’t stay in the USA and none of their fans will be given visas to enter the country. Meanwhile an African referee, on the FIFA panel since 2018, has been denied entry despite “having the right papers and a visa”

This is what happens when you take the biggest football tournament to a country run by a mad dictator. I wouldn’t go to a game there if you paid me and I very much doubt I’ll be watching any games on TV.
