I don’t think this will be the case BB.

All our players are returning to a higher standard of team, colleagues and coaches,

The WC players have been training,conditioning and playing in a very pleasant warm weather climate in fairly low intensity matches.

The dipper game is the perfect high profile match to motivate them and get their ginger up.

Walker ( Immense last night ) and Phillips will feel like new signings, Pep has signed his contract extension and Bellingham is on his way.

I think,and hope, that we hit the ground hard and fast.....the only thing that can stop us is ......US !!

Most of them played in the WC like they could not wait to get back to Manchester.

Walker was excellent once or twice wandered too far inside doing a Pep but basically sound throughout. I am still not sure why we bought Phillips but hopefully he gets some game time to enlighten me.
 
this will be a hard 2nd part of the season, once the cold hits them and back to 3 games a week, it could quickly fall apart for many clubs and players, forget the players feeling down about not winning the world cup ? it will be the pampered lifestyle and the heat and having fun that will hit them most,

it's back to work if you like, the hard yards need putting in on a cold wet windy night, then a long trip home on a coach or plain, even on a train, it's going to hit them hard

Awww poor little ducks haha. I hope they manage ok ;)
 
From a City point of view couldn't have been better, well almost apart from JS being injured in the last couple of minutes but even that leaves us with 4 top class CH's.

14? players there and apart from JA all back with plenty of time before the PL starts again and hopefully with Alfie jr fit we'll be able to ease him back in.

John Boy doesn’t play negatively, he plays intelligently and productively.
That is not just my opinion, as one of his daftest fans, that is also the opinion of sports writers who are not blinded by their red prejudices.
But of course this is still JMHO. :-)
