Mate, before last summer I more or less lived for the World Cup and Euro's. Got many many happy memories of the tournaments, no more so than under Sven in 02'. When I saw the effort of the players last year, the "effort" portrayed because of Capello's regime, I lost all faith and until he's out I won't bother with them. Many will disagree, and I know why, but Twitcher would have that lot at least competing if nothing else. Capello can take his £6m and drown himself in Lake Como with it for all I care. He's ruined international football for me, the speccy ****.

I know what you mean. To be honest, I lost interest in England in the latter part of Sven's reign and Capello hasn't done anything to restore my faith in them. We have been left behind by the technical ability of foreign players and the days when English pluck could make up for that have now gone.

I liked Sven, he at least treated the players like people, none of that locked up until training bollocks like Capello. England are just a bunch of overpaid and very much overhyped players who happen to be lucky enough to be natives of the richest and most watched league in the world. The thing is though that league is what it is because of foreigners. I don't expect England to win anything in my life time, and i'm only 33, but what I do expect is for them to compete. The 98 campaign under Hoddle, we looked good until Beckham lost his head, same under Sven in 02'. This one though under Capello, well a team made up of hungry Englishmen from the Championship would have done better. Fuck em anyway.

Very good group for Bosnia, I'd like to see them qualify.

As for the whole England debate thing, I personally think the stick Capello gets is over the top. England breezed through 2010 qualifying, and got through a hard group, just missing out on top because of goal difference. Yes, they were beaten 4-1 by Germany, but Germany were simply a better team, as Barcelona were in the CL final. They also had a legit goal disallowed, though to be honest I still think Germany would have won in the end. England are currently top of their Euro 2012 group. I don't think this current English generation is as good as Italia 90, or Euro 96, and Capello is doing nowhere near as bad, as some make out.

Another group that caught my eye: Japan, Uzbekistan, North Korea, Syria, nasty group that for Japan, and they play North Korea too, which will be quite spicy.
