Now I know the draw is on Dec 4th. What I would like to know is this: When do those crooks at FIFA announce what the seedings will be and which teams go into what pots. If the USA is ranked 15th then we should by rights go into the second pot i.e 8 groups of 4 = 32. We are ranked 15th so we should be in the top 16, non??

Nah, it's 4 pots.

It won't be that straight forward, because you can't have more than 2 European countries in a groupt etc, so the USA might be a first seed.

It's all pointlessly complex. Whatever happened to some balls in the freezer, others in the oven?

Seeding is not simply base on world ranking, it's also based on the last 2 world cups(in other words better for teams that have done well but are now ranked lower(like France)).
