Good, he's become important to Spain the past couple of years, be disappointing to see him dropped after a freak result. Dropping Xavi is surprising, but they need the width Pedro brings. Alonso and Busquets may be in there to prevent the counter attack.
 
The Aussies are playing very well. Tactically they have been pressing high up the pitch and putting the young Dutch defenders under pressure.

Also I think Van Gaal got it wrong tactically playing a 5-3-2, which has allowed the Aussies to control the play.

Brilliant goal by Timmy Cahill. One of the best of the tournament so far.

Now that we are getting a more realistic assessment of the young Dutch team, I think they are going to struggle with their defence against the better teams.
 
Don't think you can call anything now days in Football. It's so unpredictable. That's why it's the best sport though.
 
Another Robben goal. Are you watching Ronaldo?

Australia playing really well, but can't help thinking they'll pay for those missed chances. Thought Aus played well against Chile too
 
Actually good to have current players give their analysis on the game, Andros Townsend comes across well. Henry has still been the best pundit though.
 
Australia doing really well, but they are using too much energy. I know they are really fit, but around 70 minutes at the latest I expect them to hit the wall. Holland don't have the midfield, which is a real shame, because Strootman and Van Ginkel would have been great together.

I am glad in this world cup there are no weak teams.

What a performance from us Socceroos so far. The pressing and passing style under Ange is now coming to the fore and we are taking the game to a Netherlands side that has just come off a 5-1 thrashing of the world champions.

Special half. Sneijder has been run ragged, Timmy with a worldie and the whole team has shown plenty of craft. Only 1 shot for Holland and unfortunately it was a goal.

45min to go. Let's get the winner we deserve!!
