World Darts Championship 2024

Probably the most open looking championship there’s been for many years.

Going down the betting from the top downwards the other day, I don’t actually fancy anyone to win it.

Ended up having a little tickle on Rob Cross, just because he seems reasonable value at 16s.

The thing that’s puzzled me for years now is they have huge electronic scorecards all over the venue.

Yet they still seem to think they need those two blokes frantically scribbling the scores down with a magic marker on a scrap of paper, either side of the board.

I don’t want to see anyone lose their job but are they really necessary?

It's better to have have than not, especially if the tech fails.

Exactly. I'd add Russ Bray to that list as well, even though I like him.

Trying to think of the name of the Irish fella from about 20 years ago. But I can’t remember his game.

Spent more time chatting to the ref about how many he needed than he did chucking.

Was thinking of Rob Cross myself as an outside bet. Smith hasn’t done much since he won it last year and MVG is inconsistent at the moment. As you say no one has really stood out recently but probably Luke Humphries of the top current players has had the best recent form.

It would be some achievement for Luke to win it considering the years he’s had and I’d love to see it, I’d agree with Rob Cross as an outside bet also

A blue was in the crowd then with a placard about winning the Treble.
