Sometimes I have a look to catch up on figures when I have missed or can’t be arsed with the news. How accurate these figures are I couldn’t say but looking at some of the individual categories it makes depressing reading. We are currently concerned about Covid 19 and rightly so but there are a lot of scary figures out there.
Population growth and death from hunger for example shows me we are very good at avoiding real issues within the bubble we live in.

6 million kids under five will die this year makes you think .

By the end of the Summer there’ll be about 50m more people on Earth than at the start of the year, even with a deadly virus going around the world.

By the time everything is back to normal this time next year, there could be up to 120m more, therefore 120m more carbon footprints than before covid.

There covid coverage is quite good .

The only stat to really follow is to sort by deaths per capita (Million).

shows the uk doing really well...not. And that’s before the extra 20000-30000 deaths above average on top of the average+covid directly attributed.

drilling into each country’s stats shows the frightening rate of increase like Brazil

It’s a losing battle really isn’t it a new large country every year.

I didn't realise that the growth was so big. Earth is doomed.
I was thinking the other day, how many engines start up every day ? Cars, boats, planes, motorcycles, trucks, lawnmowers, diggers, massive ships etc. Must be in the billions. All that pollution.

What a depressing thread. Still. It makes me think the idiots not bothering with social distancing might he doing us all a darwinian favour. No way around the maths, we need about 1/3 of us to die so greta thunberg can go back to school and we can save the planet.

Injected contraception until 21.
Very controversial but if possible I'd sterilise every baby at birth if that's medically possible with a proviso to reverse when and I don't know how it could be measured, the person is deemed 'fit & proper'.

Of course that course of action would never happen but some sort of halfway house needs to be found if nothing else just to stop the spiralling population let alone dickheads reproducing.

You can't have "fit and proper" but you can have an age. 21.

If you then want a family, go for it.

Fertility rates are plummeting, but not quick enough to save the planet. Always seems to be well off couples struggling with IVF, they should try drinking diamond white, wearing clothes from sports direct and shagging in bus stops. The conception rate under these circumstances seems pretty high.

That’s about age.

There will come a time when world leaders have to treat growing population like they are doing with Covid, it’s something that will inevitably need to happen
