+ mathematically impossible to give a 120% guarantee

I agree that this site is best avoided, the only 'need' they meet is the need to line their own pockets at the expense of the buyer.

Afraid I can't agree with your maths :)

As we know, in football you can't give more than 100% effort, but the 120% on this site refers to a refund of 120% of the ticket price if things go wrong. That is mathematically possible.[/quote]

and of course given the nature of these site highly improbable

How come ticket touting is illegal but company's like this go untouched?
Re-selling football tickets is illegal under UK law. However they aren't a UK company so can operate outside the law. Plus they are (or claim to be) a platform for sellers of tickets rather than a seller themselves (a bit like Ebay).

So you take your chance and I'm not sure I'd rely too much on their money-back guarantee if things go wrong.

Cheers for the replies. I'm in two minds now. I do think £145 is worth risking to see City potentially go one step closer to the first league title in my lifetime and if I buy on a credit card I'm sure I'll be protected if I'm scammed by this company. Decisions, decisions.

Yeah i always wonder the same thing, it's idiotic how tickets for some concert are all bought by them then resold for 5x as much, and football games too.

I dunno about that site specifically, but I know I looked at a couple of those kind of companies for the FA Cup final and they're based abroad (Spain in most cases I think) so they get round it that way. But it is still illegal and the touts can still get done if they get caught and the police can prove some of the transaction happened here (which is a grey area, but if for example they sell a ticket online then deliver in person in this country I think).

I haven't used any myself, but I met a guy who had got a Club Wembley seat through one of those websites and that worked.

(Reselling concert tickets isn't illegal though, just footy and the Olympics.)
