Worn Out For Bolton

I am sure tuesday/weds and a saturday game is easily within the players. Hell , my lads play 90 mins saturday and sunday without the cash incentive!! ;)

You mean you don't give em a quid a goal ? you must be from scotland or they both play fullback.

Playing in midweek has had an impact on our performances. For example, Fulham (A) and QPR (A).

They were awful performances weren't they. Two away games, scored five, four points from them. Dire. Truly dire.

We surrendered a two goal lead in one of them and struggled past relegation fodder in the other, they were hardly our most glittering performances.

Ok you got me, striker gets £2 a goal, Midfielder gets £3 per goal. Was a fiver each last year but cost me well over £350!!!

Points make prizes.

It's not ideal preparation, particularly when Bolton's senior squad had relatively few players involved in internationals.

The fact that they are getting paid for playing is irrelevant to their condition. A healthy bank balance doesn't help the muscles, and nervous system etc recover

Couple of seasons back we would of lost both of them games.

Sod it just go out win the game and move on to the next. If you want to be champions and have a team full off world class players then you lose alot to international duty. That's how it goes and maybe they will be tired but i am sure we can win this game.
Not herd off any injuries from our players so just be grateful they all represent there national team because that means our team is full off world class players :-)

Mark Lawrenson's Prediction for Man City v Bolton

Bolton have got a run of games coming up after this one where they play some teams around them at the bottom of the table - QPR, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Wolves and Fulham - in succession.

They might feel confident of getting wins from those games, especially at home, but the problem with that approach is that they have not been beating those sort of sides either - Wigan went to the Reebok Stadium a couple of weeks ago and won.

So I worry about Bolton because they really need to be targeting every single game and be trying to nick the odd point somewhere to help their cause.

It will not happen for them on Saturday, though. You just back Manchester City to beat everyone at the Etihad Stadium right now.

After winning 13 out of 13 at home in the league this season, City have got so much belief and they seem to be able to despatch many teams almost at will.

Prediction: 3-0

Well said. What made the Fulham game so frustrating was that we were in total control in the first half but at around the 50mins mark our midfield died on it's arse. Against QPR, we were quite simply fortunate that their strikers were so wasteful.

-- Thu Mar 01, 2012 9:46 pm --

Well if that's the case then we dropped two points against a very poor team, that could prove vital at the end of the season.
