Worsley - an apology to rickmcfc

I don't see the argument here. Worsley is in the City of Salford. You can't drive out of Manchester up the East Lancs into Salford and back into Manchester again.

I know a lot of people don't want to be associated with the new [1970s] boundaries, through snobbery or history, but putting ones head in the sand won't alter facts.

True little Hulton used to have a postal adress of Worsley and that is well and truelly in Salford

My first post after browsing here for a while, I couldn't sit this one out.

My address is Little Hulton, Worsley, Manchester.

My postcode is M28, M being for Manchester I imagine.

These are facts, I'm not really bothered what my address is to be honest, but it is what it is.

Worsley was taken out of the LH adress over 25 years a go when Worlsey got a different postcode. It was snobbery from the Worlsley lot so the insurance etc was cheaper

edit

Little Hulton is M38 Worsley is M28

I use to live on Belvedere Rd which has a M6 postcode . Can't say the M stands for Manchester .
As anyone who know's where Belvedere Rd is , It's certainly not in Manchester .
For those that don't know where it is , it's in Pendleton AKA Salford Precinct .

Your words. "Do stop being so emotional and pathetic Rick and no, it's not a "silly little personal vendetta." Let's just call it a site visit"

Your argument is pathetic. This started over 3 weeks ago and yet you still carry it on. Im never going to agree with you, and your never going to agree with me, for a simple reason, its our opinion. Have you started to contact the companies that i stated on page 1? Earlier on in the disagreement you said that i have a chip on my shoulder because i live in Worsley. You sound like the one who has the chip on your shoulder and for some reason hates the fact that people live in this lovely area of MANCHESTER called Worsley. I do not know one person or company that issue their address as "salford" in any of the surrounding areas. Worsley, Swinton, Boothstown, Walkden, Pendlebury, Monton, Eccles. Everyone uses Manchester, maybe we are all wrong and you are the one that is correct, but instead of continuing a pointless disagrement, you had better start typing those letters to those companies. Oh they will not be happy when a no mark from Whitfield has spotted the huge and massively important mistake (not). Maybe they have thousands of pieces of important mail in circulation around the country as the postmen dont know where these address are, no, they do know where they are, and the mail will always turn up at the company address. Off to work now, toodle pip!!!, Oh, whats that on your shoulder, looks to me like a McCain crinkle cut.

To be fair mate, I lived in Worsley for nearly 30 years and now I'm in Swinton and although as a kid I always put "Worsley, Manchester" as my address, as I learnt that Salford is a City in its own right, I changed it to "Worsley, Salford" and now, "Swinton, Salford".

We live in the City of Salford, NOT the City of Manchester. If you really want 'Manchester' on your address then it should be "Worsley, Salford, Greater Manchester".

There's no debate as I see it. It's just a fact.

gotta have a giggle at you lot, your City fans, fuk yer postcode whether it's in Manchester or not.
Campbeltown is approx 120 miles from Paisley and it has a PA (Paisley) postcode.
Hoy,Peedubya,do you stay in "sheep shagging" country ?...no.

No mate, my argument is not pathetic. It's fact - something you seem to be blissfully aware of. Now, your argument is based on fiction and snobbery. You can have an opinion about a fact but you can't dress a wrong opinion up as a fact, no matter how hard you try.

Did you not read my original post? I went to Worsley on Saturday purely by chance... right to the very beating heart of it... the ticking hub of Worsley... Worsley Green and there was the sign: City of Salford. Not, you'll note, City of Manchester, but... wait for it: CITY OF SALFORD. Honest. I kid you not.

I certainly don't hate "the fact that people live in this lovely area of MANCHESTER called Worsley" because, quite simply, it isn't a fact. Lovely yes and good luck to the people who live there. It's very picturesque to be fair, although that monument on the green looks like it gets a bit of hammer at weekends.

Now then, where shall we start with those letters? Let's alternate. I'll write to John Lewis and you write to Manchester United Football Club. I'll write to er, Selfridges and you write to Salford City Council because they appear to have made a mistake on their website...

http://www.salford.gov.uk/worsleycourthouse.htm

Oh, never mind.

The reason "Everyone uses Manchester" is because the Post Office directs them to for 'con-ven-i-ence' and 'ad-min-is-tra-tion.'

Just before I sign off, where is "Whitfield"? I've never heard of it.

Finally, if you're still living at home, I suggest you ask mater and pater who they pay their Council Tax to... after the Bridge match natch.

Toodle pip!
