One I remember that had dire consequences - Gerry Gow's unnecessary tackle just outside the area v Spurs in 1981 Final, when Hoddle's free kick got the vital deflection off Tommy Hutch

The Ben Thatcher elbow was a tad embarassing.

However the Tony Grealish assault on Norman Whiteside, just ten seconds into his City career was a personal favourite.
To be fair to Whiteside he was too terrified to complain.

Someone has already mentioned Danny Tiatto.

His tackle on the Blackburn player - his name escapes me - only four minutes after coming as substitute was horrendous.
