for a long time mainly due to no away songs/banter we were on our own once the ticker tape/bog role had gone down blue moon had dies down we had nothing to bonce off nothing from the away fans the game was quiet and we all thought the club had something planned nothing happened compared to normal games it was a good atmos but compared to other derbys nothing special

Not sure what happened to the United fans, I don't remember hearing a peep from them apart from when they scored. Very bizarre.

And where were the Norwich scarves? Was it just me or were they conspicuous by their absence? That must have been a conscious decision because they knew we would take the piss? I am sure I have seen them on TV in plenty of United away games?

Strange day all around.

the pearce 1-0 defeat where vass missed a penalty was much worse & pretty flat. had they not given out free scarves the atmopshere would have been woeful.
This. That was the worst year football ever made though. I defy anyone to make it shitter. I made Northern Rock get depressed that year.

In that game for 20 mins in the 2nd half it was as good as anything we produced at Maine Rd other that the Bell comeback.
"Here comes the Twelth man",that was andy grays comment in the 2nd half.
Yesterday was ok as Derby's go BUT if we'd took the bastards on like we all thought was going to happen when that team was named we would't be having threads like this.

I thought the atmosphere was good yesterday.

Best since Chelsea.

I am comparing it to other derby games not other league games and it was nowhere near as good as other derbys in the last few years i think everyone was waiting for this big thing the club had planned and all we got was a few flags in front of the stands

Bell's comback - Newcastle 0-0 ht 4-0 ft ? It was brilliant. I will never forget that game.

good atmosphere i thought, better then last year. obviously not the year before because we won.

if we had been winning at any point i think it would have been electric.

I thought it was ok, a lot of anxiety though and I think this affected the atmosphere throughout. I was very happy however that the entire of 121 and half of 122 were stood all game, chuffed with that.

I was at that game actually. One of my first City games ever. :(

I thought the atmosphere yest was better than last seasons legaue derby, that was truely awful! Yesterday was still poor, too many fans not prepared to get behind the team - same old stuff - me n the guy who sits next to me stood up and threw our fists in the air a few times shouting "come on City, come on City!!" and got told to sit down to which I turned around and shouted "stand up!" and I had a chewing gum thrown at me (which fucked up my top, made a mess!) when I'd sat back down!

Getting bored of our appalling atmopshere, but also getting bored of saying it week-after-week-after-week........

would you just shut up with the atmosphere i mean sick of people slating it

even when its good people say it was bad, the atmosphere at the derby was good probably the best this season.
its gradually getting beter each game the north stand started some and the whole ground sang

compare it to a few seasons ago when no one sang and we sat in silence

Dont agree this is my post on an alternative titled thread:

Still gutted feel like someone has died soz!

But I had to just say well done the crowd yesterday absolutely brilliant from the tickertape start to the chanting all the way through the game even when thinks on the pitch didnt seem to be happening for us!

Didnt hear united fans until they scored!

Well done big pat on the back we played our part shame the players didnt quiet make it!

Think the players owe us big time!

You should of kept it on the other thread (O:

the atmosphere was truly awful, and as some one alluded to above, spurs twice in a week got there team over the line, and that ticker tape was embarrassing if you ask me........

I find that anxiety is a big problem with our support. We're so used to disappointment that we almost expect it at every turn and that makes us nervous which obviously stops people singing. The Carling Cup was a prime example, we got ahead but then when we were hanging on in the last 15 minutes we fell quiet because we were shitting ourselves.

Agreed. I remember thinking that even derbies no longer did it for me.

But the atmosphere on saturday was good. Not the best but pretty damn good.

I thought the atmosphere was pretty decent on Saturday. Can't understand the need for people to come on here and slag off our support. Compared to a lot of other Premiership grounds i think our support is pretty good, obviously there are off days (particularly games with wierd kick off times) but if you travel to other supposedly "loud" grounds you will see how poor their home atmosphere is. I'm thinking Scum, Newcastle, Villa, Liverpool (especially), Everton. They all have a much worse atmosphere compared to Eastlands.
