Worst film I've ever seen

I wouldn't say it was the worst film I ever saw, but it was hard work watching it. The flagellation scene is one of the most gruesome scenes I can remember watching in any film. Also, the subtitles make any film harder to watch. I know the native language (Aramaic, I think) adds to the authenticity, but I find reading the subtitles diverts your attention away from what is happening visually on screen. As for the worst film I've seen, Bonfire of the Vanities is fairly high up there. And, I'm sorry to say (as I'm a big Clint Eastwood fan, any of the "Any which way/Every which way" films are, by his standards, very poor.

Scary movie 4, Epic movie and all those shite piss takes.

I actually liked 'Shes the man' even though I much prefer a psychological thriller or a film that at least makes me think.

It was just a study of how much torture one man could take. Not the worst film I've seen, but a bit pointless really.

That mad me feel sick that film I dont like torture in any form

I thought the flagellation scene horrendous. As was the scenes with the carrying of the cross.

But that is/was the whole point.

And it moved me to the point of tears. A very powerful film, but I would have liked it more if Mr Catholic hadn't been involved. Mainly because it left me with a feeling of being manipulated. And that Story shouldn't feel the need to do that inmho.

EdIT....Wow! Gaping holes in my thought processes there!

Don't care. It's a lot about Faith after all. ;-)

It IS about 'Faith', you're right. And testament to the spirit of the Human Being in the face of the betrayal and horrors 'Humans' can do to each other.

Very strong film.

Bigga, it was probably the only film in years that moved me as much as it did.

And I thought the whole idea of Subtitles and the original language was a tremendously poignant touch.

If you get my drift.

Whether you "get" the violence and harrowing scenes (and they were horrible) is beside the point really. It was the fact that those scenes were going to happen whether you liked it or not.

A very moving film, and one that is based on fact. Or not, as some see fit.

I believe them.
