Worst moment as a City fan

98th min at the swamp 2009/2010

That and the 3 nil home defeat to notts forest under hughes. The 5 nil against the rags when kanchelskis got a hat trick and ince won the man of the match and was spinning the ball on his finger. Was only young but I cried like a baby, but it all added up to make the day neville fed the goat so much sweeter

As a young blue I havn't so much endured some of these terrible stories so as of my days being a City fan the lowest I've felt was being knocked out of the semi's in the CC this year by that red scum from Stretford.

Broke my heart, never again City please. Never.

this was also a terrible feeling , i remember no word came out of my mouth after that for a few hours . then suddenly 2 words came out of my mouth that made perfect sense ........... tick tock

this could be a very long thread.

the loss of king colin.

wolves at wembley 74.

fenabache 68

fucking groclin away

boro 8-1

fulham 3-2 loss at home.

the surrender at OT in the league cup last season.

the tottenham game at home. it seemed all week, the whole city was talking about it. some calling it the biggest game since gillingham '99. i stopped for about 20mins after the whistle, it was eerie. my first derby was a choker. 1996 lost 3-2. its hard to nail down one!!

Halifax in the FA Cup, a horrible day and the only time in my life I've been anything other than fiercely proud of being a Blue. The team was bad and the fans were worse.

I'd agree with this .......

i was also there that dismal day , 5th Jan 1980 ........ what a feckin' dump the Shay was back then , i was stood on about four inches of frozen mud that masquaraded as a visitors terrace

the team were absolutely terrible , we created next to nothing against a football league basement side ...... and to be fair the fans had absolutely nothing to shout about.

Big Mal said it was 'only a matter of turning up' , to get a result ..... how wrong he was!

This was argueably our worst , and most embarrassing , result ever.

Hard to believe it was 30 years ago ........

It turned out ok in the end and there have unfortunately been much more significant events happen both before and since, but blowing that 3-0 lead against Bournemouth in the promotion run in hurt like a dagger to the heart at the time.

third of may 1998

i couldn't believe the team i had seen win the league, cup, league cup and cup winner's cup could drop so far

the third division is for has-beens, cloggers and newbies

fucking macclesfield as the derby, trip to tranmere instead of liverpool, darlington instead of newcastle, everyone taking the piss.....

I can't look beyond this. Relegation into that division was gut-wrenchingly awful.

My top 3(at matches i was at) in no order

Liverpool home-lomas in the corner, EVERYONE screaming at him(never forgave Ball for that)

Stoke away-couldnt belive we was in the 3rd division and getting away from the ground was scary as hell, battles in the car park and our coach got bricked

Blackburn away fa cup- THE worst preformance ive ever seen from a City side. Never seen City fans turn on their team like that ever, awful day

One of the my worse days was the pearce era when we had been dog shit and not scored at home for about 6 zillion games and vaselle stepped up to take the pen against the scum. That one pen could of saved that season for me, that pen meant so much. And Fucking that numpty stepped up to take it !

Mine was when Antic scored and relegated City in 1983.
I was 21 and not ready for it,was crying inside on way home
from game.Little did I know it was the start of a yo yo period
throughout the 80s....

This for me. Yes when we went down to Division 3 was low but I was fortunate that season to be away from these shores sailing around the far east. When we went down against Luton I was away on a school trip. I was the only blue in my year (St margret wards, sale) and the school headmaster who was a Oldham fane was taking the piss. I was only 10 ffs and in tears!!

Luton home

Halifax away

Balloongate at Sheff Utd

Spurs home last season

.....loads more but these spring to mind

Final season with Pearce as manager and Wardle as owner! Shittest time ever watching City! We lost SWP and Anelka the year before; we scored no goals at home from Boxing Day onwards; we were in a relegation battle; no players (bar possibly Barton at a push) to get excited about; I had no affinity with that team whatsoever, dint give a shit about any of them; no hope, no future!...

I was almost wishing for relegation so at least I could enjoy watching some goals and seeing some wins in the Championship!

I enjoyed Div1 and Div2 way way more than that season, whether it was Prem Lg or not!

Got to be getting relegated to the old 2nd division.
We beat Stoke and still went down, I just remember thinking that was an all time low and would we ever come back.
I'll always remember the 2 rags who completely took the p--s, when to me it felt like the end of the world.
I should have known you just can't keep us down and as we all know it turned out ok in the end. As if there was any doubt eh :)

ditto, the feeling of helplessness was what got me,
losing 0-5 at utd was bad, seeing phelan give up hurt

Went to see City live for my first time away at Reading in winter of 99 while on a business trip to London. It was pissing down rain, I had to stand on the terrace as it wasn't an all-seater, City were wearing the awful bumble-bee yellow and black away kit, and we lost 3-0. I was absolutely hooked on City after that experience.
