Worst signing of the season

among all the crap they sling at city for our spending, I was amused to hear a scouser bragging that Rodgers has spent nothing...

the facts tell me he spent over 50 million on 7 players in the summer, and not one of them have featured much this season, apart from Kolo who was free, and was dropped after a few characteristic clangers....

Kolo Touré Manchester City Man City free transfer
Luis Alberto Sevilla FC Sevilla FC 7.040.000 £
Iago Aspas Celta de Vigo Celta de Vigo 7.920.000 £
Simon Mignolet Sunderland AFC Sunderland 9.328.000 £
Aly Cissokho * Valencia CF Valencia CF 880.000 £
Mamadou Sakho Paris Saint-Germain Paris SG 16.720.000 £
Tiago Ilori Sporting Lisbon Sporting 7.260.000 £
Victor Moses * Chelsea FC Chelsea 1.056.000 £
Didn't realise it was that much

You've missed off the £10M+ he spent on Borini. He's actually spent £96M in under 2 years. Even the mythical 'net spend' is about £60M. But hey the man is a genius, working on a shoestring, with a club who just can't compete in the transfer market!
To be fair , Mignolet has played and will probably be a key reason they finish top two this season.

Agree with supercrystal7 about Ozil he was never gonna push Arsenal to the title he's only as good as the players in front of him and he's missed having midfield runners. We've all seen what a difference Aguero makes to Silva's game

You what. Aguero's been out for how long. Take a look in the player of the month thread.
How the CP idiot can compare Ozil's season to David Silva's is beyond me.
I'm not comparing their seasons just saying they're similar type players that are more likely to assist than score so need good finishers and midfield runners we have Yaya, Nasri, Navas and Negredo.
At Real Madrid Ozil was amazing he's not turned bad overnight. Even Silva would find it hard playing with Santi Cazorla Rosicky and Giroud upfront because they would just get in each other way. Using the transfer fee as a stick to beat him with is stupid he didn't force Arsenal to break their transfer record for him. Considering he wanted to leave and Real Madrid had enough players to cover Arsenal shouldn't have paid that much but as usual Arsene panics late in the transfer window.
In patches he was. Just as he's been this season at Arsenal, he can't do it consistently, that's why Real Madrid sold him.

Plenty to choose from in my opinion. I guess you could pick most of the spurs signings.

Personally I've been really disappointed in Soldado, I actually thought Spurs had got a great deal when they signed him but he's been so poor and doesn't fit in with spurs style of play at all.

Other poor signings that have struggled Paulinho, Lamela, Ozil, Willian (30 million?) but they are all based on the money spent.

A strange one has been Kone at Everton, not the best striker about but did well at Wigan and Everton signed him for £5 million and he's hardly kicked a ball.

So who do you think has been the worst signing of the season? Who's really disappointed you? Who did you expect more of based on what you had seen previously?

There can only be one, the dirty bastard AKA Fellaini, pure, unrefined shite and getting worse by the game.

Cornelius is the undisputed winner of worst signing of the season. Record signing for Cardiff, sold back in January. Others have at least done something, even if that something has been nothing. Cornelius didn't even do that!

Ozil has made an impact here and there. He was never consistent at Real Madrid hence why they sold him and have coped without him. Typical football manager/FIFA crew who believe he was ever consistently World Class. He burst on the scene and then stuttered and unless he is given a free role in a central area for Arsenal he wont ever reach his potential. He isn't a player who will track back and contribute defensively. For me Wenger has been far too guilty of buying the same type of footballer again and again. When you look at their team, all of their midfielders would be best in the middle and he sacrifices their abilities by playing them in wider areas. Chamberlain, Wilshere, Cazorla, Flamini, Arteta, Ozil, Ramsey... even Podolski and Giroud but further forward.

Anyway, I would say we've done pretty well this season, our signings have made an impression on the squad - Jovetic has been injured but I would still say we've seen glimpses of what he can do in the few games he has played.

Bit harsh putting Paulinho in I think hes had a decebt season. Capoue could go on the list though.

Van Wolfswinkel has been a huge disappointment for me same with Soldado and Lamela.

Always knew Fellaini was a shite buy

A shite buy that you use to clean shite out of the toilet bowl.
A bog brush for old toilet.
Plenty of shit stains in there.
I can see why they bought him.
