Would a draw

We need 17 points from the next 9 games to make the magic 70 point target.
6 wins + 3 losses or
5 wins +2 draws + 2 losses or
4 wins + 5 draws
would do it.

Anything less than 4 wins and we can't make 70 points.

So a draw wouldn't be a disaster, neither would a loss. But of course a win is what everyone would prefer.

I think we will win tonight. Our home record is good and we are in pretty good form at the moment.
That's how i see it pretty much. Wouldn't be the end of the world if we don't win tonight. Plenty of twists and turns left. There will probably even be a point where it seems Liverpool will be back in with a good shout.

At the moment we have 53 points with 9 games left - 6 home and 3 away.

home - blue dippers, wigan, birmingham, rags, villa, spuds

away - burnley, arse, west ham

Spuds are prob our most serious rivals for 4th. They have 55 points, but face Chelsea, Arse and Rags in succession. I think realistically they are unlikely to pick up more than 15 more points, so we probably need 71 points to finish 4th - another 18 points.

Away, I would have thought that we can get wins at Burnley and at West Ham on the last day, but I'd be surprised to get anything at Arsenal.

18 points is what we can achieve at home but this is unlikely. We will slip up somewhere. We should beat Wigan and Birmingham, so realistically we need to win one game against either blue dippers, villa, rags or spuds and draw the rest.

So would a draw be a bad result? No, but a win would mean there is less pressure on the home games against villa, spuds, rags etc in the weeks to come.

Need 3 points to keep the momentum going. A draw would not be the end of the world but it would be another wasted opportunity and quite frankly shit.

this one is set up for a win. listen carefully to moyes, there is a certain defensiveness in his comments. talking up the lescott saga and the stoking up the feeling between the clubs served him very well in january, but he realises that it could come back to haunt him now they have to come here. I would guess that he is looking for six more wins by the end of the season, but they have plenty of easier games in which to get them, I can hardly see them targeting this one. they let a two goal lead slip in their last away game (birmingham). i smell fear.

from our point of view, it's our first home game in ages, it should be a full house, a chance to capitalise on our recent hard work and claim fourth spot. the atmosphere should be pretty good. they've talked a bit too freely, which will be motivation for our players, if they need any. the talk around here is of there being no room for mistakes. whilst a draw would hardly be the end of anything, it would give spurs the narrowest of advantages, it really would be in there hands. we have worked too hard to let that happen. the chance to show we can rise to the challenge is there tonight, and I expect us to take it.

I wouldn't go as far by saying a draw is a 'bad' result, it would just be slightly disappointing.

on current form and how everton are playing we ccan lose this game, personally i think we'll win but it will be hard, if people expect us to go out there tonight and walk it they need to have a lye down.

Normally a result wouldnt be a bad result against Everton and the way they are playing

But with the curent situation and what we are fighting for, we need to win tonight....if we dont its "advantage spurs"

I hope Mancini continues with the positve approach he showed at Fulham, compared to other games

It will be hard game whatever but we must go and attack them....Everton are a dangerous team and once they score they can be very solid and hard to break down

a pity we couldn't have played them earlier in the season when the likes of Jagielka , Arteta , Neville , Distin and Saha were injured!!!

at least they don't have Fellaini (superb against us at Everton) and Donovan has gone back to LA
