Would Bayern Munich win the premier league easily?

Spot on pal. There are no easy games when we're absolute shite! Our record against the top 8 is abysmal but that doesn't mean they're good. The rags have been swatted aside in Europe by Liverpool, who then lose to Southampton. Arsenal scrape through their CL group, which was piss easy. The rags couldn't make it through theirs, which was more dross. Chelsea have been the most consistent in Europe. Where are they in the league?

People talk about tough games v Everton. Where are they in the league?

There's plenty of dross. I'd argue the whole league is dross this season. Spurs and Leicester have been good, but don't get carried away. They've been shite when compared to previous season's champions. Leicester can't keep the ball. Against a side that could, and could also defend they wouldn't get a sniff.

What you are not taking into consideration is that City are actually miles better than these teams as well, yet have dropped points to all of them under two managers.

Bayern don't have to lose to Everton every week, they just have to draw with them occasionally, which they would. That's two points dropped. If someone like Ferguson's Utd or indeed City at their best, or Mourinho's Chelsea is also winning most games then just a small lapse here & there soon turns into 3rd place.

Theyd have the shock of their live come christmas time. instead of sunning up and re-energizing on a lovely beach theyd be running round every 2/3 days in the wind and rain.

If they kept their main players fit all season they would probably win it easily. If they defended lije they did v Juve, they would drop too many points. But if they did win it in the first season, then the following season they would not win so easily as all the teams in the Prem would be working on a plan purely to stop them. As soon as one succeeded, the rest would follow that plan. Meanwhile, players such as Thiago would have their fucking ankles kicked in, every week. Then the season after, they would have to rebuild & if they got it wrong, they would have exactly the same problems as Utd or City.

The Premier League IS different. If is much much much more competitive than any other league & has more different styles, & is far more intense. Bayern would also start to find the Champions League tougher, as they would be pushed harder & kicked around rather than being able to stroll.

Barca, Bayern etc have it much easier on a weekly basis, than Prem teams do. Therefore it's much easier to work on quality rather than have to fight all the time.

Agree with you, up until the last paragraph, which sort of contradicts your main point, that it’s all cyclical.

Ten years ago, it was almost guaranteed that at least two Premier League teams would reach the Champions League Semi Finals and often beyond. However, Bayern, Barca, and Real, had exactly the same advantages that they’ve got now (in fact you could argue that the re-emergence of Athletico has made La Liga tougher in recent years, in contrast to the Premier League, which has gone backwards in terms of overall quality)

Similarly, Bayern were just as strong domestically ten years ago and won the Bundesliga 4 times out of 6, between 2002 and 2008. However, they didn’t reach a Champions League Final during a period when the standard wasn't particularly high (Porto and Liverpool etc), so holding a domestic monopoly doesn't always make it easier on the wider stage.

However, I agree with your overall point that Bayern would stroll the Premier League this season, but would then face a far tougher challenge.

pl teams are not that arsed about the europa league. the "we dont do well in europe" line is false, as is that dortmund beat spurs so they must be better" line.

our leagues financial status gives the teams as much incentive to stay in it than every other competition put together.

saying that, the pl has become one dimensional with survival being the ONLY thing that matters to most of the clubs so they can keep their seat on the gravy train.

pluses and minuses, but thats the way it is!

I am not as impressed with Bayern's squad as many on here. I think they were far stronger a couple of years ago & their best players are ageing, like City.

Very impressed with their manager though.

Put it this way , with their current manager , playing staff and because they play team football where the team is all that matters despite having players with big egos and big pay packets then of course they would win the league.

This season in particular the premier league has been of low quality with the vast majority of sides either achieving last years efforts or in many cases falling below last years efforts.

Only Leicester , Spurs , Stoke and West Ham have improved and Stoke and Spurs only marginally.

The fact that two sides that finished outside the top four last season one of them Leicester who finished well below will finish in the top four says all you need to know about this years premier league.

I know some will disagree , but we have some amazing players in the prem - i would say these could be considered to fit in any team in the world

Hugo Lloris
Joe Hart
De Gea
Courtois
Bellerin
Monreal
Zabaleta
Kompany
Mahrez
Ozil
Payet
Coutinho
De Bruyne
Sanchez
Silva
Hazard (not this season)
Harry Kane
Martial
Lukaku
Sergio Aguero

It's easy to slag off the prem, but it is a great league
Most of those wouldn't. Especially Silva and Zabaleta.

And don't get me started on Lloris and Martial (who has worse stats than Sterling this season)

You forgot Bony.

Never mind Bayern, Dortmund would have walked the league this season as would have Juve, Napoli and PSG.
