WOULD NEW SONGS IMPROVE THE ATMOSPHERE?

has anyone got a decent idea about how to get new songs going?

and before anyone has a go or anything- i think this is something that seriously needs to be looked at because, as discussed on other threads and every week, the atmosphere is awful most of the time. This is due to a few factors - which have also been discussed in other threads i.e the need for a singing end etc- but is it fair to say that our songs are old and tired and fans are just bored of singing them?

We seem to have 2 tunes for new songs for players- either 'we've got Robinho/Ireland is Superman' or 'one Zabaleta/one Shay Given'.

fair enough, it's better than not making an effort at all but the same 2 tunes churned out time and time again? it's just boring and uninspiring.

how do other clubs manage to get new songs going that don't just consist of the same tunes and 2 or 3 words?

i'm not intending to be negative here- on the contrary i'm looking for positive responses to how the glut of great songs that are posted on here can see the light of day. Over recent months with new signings there's been loads of great songs suggested- but none ever get going.

I, along with many others, have e mailed the club with regard to moving away fans to create one end- but that doesn;t look like it will happen overnight- so in the meantime would some fresh, new songs inspire a better atmosphere?

Does anyone with a bit of clout and a loud voice have any ideas of how to get new songs going? Handing them out on printed sheets? Organising a meeting for a load of willing participants to discuss new songs then the loudest and boldest can get them going?

couldnt you get songs put on to phone then bluetoothed to whole of singing stand . so as to have the tune and the words , sounds more complicated as i write it .

The one which was made up to the tune of the tevez one is brilliant, easy to remember and would be brilliant with everyone bouncing about, such a brilliant song but never been sung yet in the ground, home or away

just get really really drunk ... go to an away day and sing your song over and over and over again

sure there's loads of people who do that- but they never get belted out when we get back to CoMs do they? :)

I've posted this one before but didn't really get any views on it;
to the chorus of K.C and the sunshine band. Give it Up.

i got slagged off coz it wasn't to an 'original' tune- though we've got robinho is?

funnily enough i was thinking bout that song today coz on the ad boards round the pitch is said 'pride in battle' and made me think of it. some people criticised the 'pride in battle on our chest' bit so i reworded it and i think this sounds better

the only team in manchester City! City!
the best supporters in the land City! City!
with pride in battle we will fight
to wear the shirt, the blue and white
of Super City Pride of Manchester

Post a video on youtube of a few people singing it.

There are no originality in new city songs, they are shit.

the songs need to be given to the singing stands , thats why i said bluetooth because theres no point in someone in north stand logging on to you tube . He would probably get looked on strange for singing or kicked out in north stand
