Ok fair enough.
Is a player taking a throwing allowed to throw it backwards as you can still take a legal throwing over your head backwards.

Or... throw it in Gary Neville's face really hard from 2 yards then get the rebound and run off with it?

Sadly this is considered ungentlemanly conduct and a free kick would be the result. ( I don't know why either).

Would it be allowed if, say Tevez put the ball on the spot for a penalty and took his walk back for the run up, outside the D. Then another one of our players ran up out of nowhere and scored?
Would the goal stand?

Penalty kick
A penalty kick is awarded for offences taking place in the penalty and goal area. A nominated member of the team awarded the penalty is allowed a strike at goal from the penalty spot (see the image in the ‘field of play’ section), with only the goalkeeper to beat. The goalkeeper must remain on his line until the ball has been kicked, and all other players must be outside the area behind the penalty spot. After he has taken the kick, he cannot strike the ball again without another player touching the ball.

taken from the football rules site.

By the very definition of that article Chrisuk23, as posted by Eccles Blue, the answer would yes. Why?

Well according to C23's question and example, he never stated that the person who laid the ball on the spot was the "nominated member". Just the placer of the ball. And he had also left the area he was not allowed in.

People just assume the placer of the ball is the one who takes it.

am still amazed people dont no the rules of football...the junior team i run, scored a goal after the goalkeeper took the goal kick..cleared the defence ,which was stood on halfway ,the striker stood 3 yards behind them ran off and scored....10 minutes of arguing saying you cant be offside from a goal kick ,before the ref allowed the goal ,more amazingly was the ref was a adult ,dont they have to do a course on the rules lol

when malcom allison was in charge at plymouth, he brought them to maine road, the actual henry pires incident was done by malcoms team, and scored, the penalty taker pushed the ball slightly forward to his right, a team member ran from outside the box and placed it into the net, quite legal as long as the penalty taker does not touch the ball twice? they were so impressive plymouth that malcome was headhunted by the city board?

Surely there would be some kind of special dispensation for this?...it's Gary Neville ffs!
