Would You Accept A Rapist Playing For City?

Maybe football is the ideal job for a convicted rapist? - good outlet for pent up energy and no female colleagues.

Why don't you start a thread on the subject and gauge opinion?

Because like any contentious thread it would just attract the nutters from both sides of the argument and would likely end in tears, fights, bans, warnings, and no good would come of it.

For those saying they wouldn't accept it, in what way would you demonstrate your lack of acceptance?

Exactly the same thing that Sheffield Utd supporters are doing now, petition the club. If they've already had 60,000 signatures, imagine how many we'd get.

But you'd still attend the games? Even when he's playing? What if he scored a goal? Celebrate?

It's really, really easy to say "I wouldn't accept that" but it's whether you're willing to act upon your it, and how far you're willing to go.

I'm sure Ed Drain from Fairfax, Virginia and the like are all massive Sheff United fans

no..
never..

there are certain crimes where there is no, second chance.
and rape is certainly one of them.

and if city did,i would give back mine and three other family seasontickets, back to the club.

shame on sheffield utd,if they are looking to re-employ a convicted rapist.

I'll be a hypocrite and say that I believe that once you've done the time you should be able to get on with your life and career. But I wouldnt want that to be at City.

I once witnessed something, and it has stayed with me, to this very day.

What i saw that day, WAS A POOR DEFENCELESS GARY NEVILLE SCREAMING AS 'THE GOAT' RAPED HIM AND PROCEEDED TO ASSAULT THE WHOLE UTD TEAM. And I'm pleased we let him play for us!

But, if we're talking about actual sexual rape, and not the good kind (which also includes the 6-1 at the swamp - multiple rapes), then no.

No way.

I know its not right but its much easier for us to say "No thanks" than it is for Sheffield United. Dont forget he was the star striker with about 30league 1 goals before he got banged up

The only thing about someone having served their time; does the victim stop thinking about it or stop having emotional and psychological problems once the rapist has done his time? Why should the victim have a life ruined and the perp just get on with life after a minimal amount of time in prison as if they've done nowt wrong?

Some actions in life are so serious that they should hinder a persons life forever, just like it does the victim.

I wouldn't be comfortable if city were to sign or retain a convicted rapist but it's hypothetical isn't it as I can't see our current owner and management putting the wider brand at risk by doing so.
