Pidge, you are being very kind to the people who said "no".

Too many people put their hatred of united before the good of City, on this thread and subject especially.

sorry But united,s got nowt to do with it I wanted Tevez like the next man but Rooney is everything I dislike about a footballer Just like Chuckle and Keane..they are scum through and through and not for me..
They hate City and City hate them..

Neither would most of the players in the transfer thread, but it doesn't stop people talking about it, or the possibility of what it would be like, hypothetically.

-- Wed Mar 31, 2010 12:29 pm --

If someone who hated us banged in 35 plus goals every season in exchange for £150k a week, I couldn't give a fuck about that hatred, to be honest, as it would only be good for our club.

could you actually imagine COMS chanting rooney, rooney, rooney everytime he scores. not for me, I wouldnt swap Tevez for any other striker in the world at the min, honestly

Rather have Torres tbh..I would never be able to have the connection with rooney, and for me as a fan, thats important.

Well no, you can't imagine it now because he doesn't play for us, the same as Torres doesn't or anyone else we are linked with, (I know we're not, and never will be linked with Rooney by the way). We all agree we want one thing, the best players to provide the elite trophies? Yes? For that to happen those best players have to come to us, and whether you all like it or not, Rooney is one of the best players in the world, this season, and technically one of the best players currently playing. People who say they wouldn't want him are doing so on the basis he plays for united. Well if we're to overtake them, as many on here seem to think we can, and will, who's to say that doesn't involve taking one of their best players? Hypothetically, if the Glazers had to sell and we could afford him and we have 2 PL championships under our belt, there's nothing to say he wouldn't think about it and if he did, anyone on here would be insane if they said they didn't want him.

-- Wed Mar 31, 2010 12:38 pm --

Connection?!! What are you talking about man? If he played for us and had scored the goals he's scored for them so far this season, how could you not have any kind of 'connection' with them?

No - hate the man. He hates city. Haven't read the full post because the thought of him in a blue shirt makes me feel a little sick. Fat little t0sser.

Tevez celebrates after scoring Man Utd's second against Man City

but you wouldn't have Rooney..pull the other one

I think you'd be lying to say we wouldn't have Rooney.

I know he doesn't play great with Tevez but I'd still have him in a heartbeat.

Would prefer Torres though and I do think we will sign Torres but I hope to god we don't pay silly money for him because he is injury prone and that's the downside.

I expect you'd have any liverpool player at everton then !! how about gerrard or carragher eh..!!

you pull the other one.

There are certain players that Huge rivals shouldnt entertain..

@ samharris gerrard is a self confessed Liverpool fan who hates Everton so no.carragher is crap so wouldn't want him. Torres i would take in a flash.
Rooney is not a Manu fan but is a great player so i don't see what your problem is. Its no different taking Rooney as you did Tevez

Totally agree with the OP. he is brilliant and some people just need to accept this. Rooney or adebayour. Thats tough, not!!!

Ade - 2nd rate striker... Wenger is laughing all the way to the pick n mix stand!!

Back to the original question - yes!!

if he was for sale, i would buy him or any great player if they became available.
where he has been , who he has played for, i wouldnt give a flyin fook.
we want the best at city, and he is clearly in that bracket.
