Would you play all 3 strikers?

We were overrun in midfield against Dortmund because we played two up front. Now some want to go away from home and play 3 strikers? Two of them out wide?

My gast is flabbered.
No we were overun as we played two in midfield, so we were basically playing 4 very attack minded players what most are suggesting in this thread is we play two holding players with Yaya in front of them plus Tevez and Aguero just behind Dzeko.

Now we would get over run with this team, in europe you need an extra holding player.

Either Kun or Tevez would have to play the Silva role with Barry and Yaya in midfield, the problem is I think we underestimate how strong Silva is on the ball when brutes on the other team are trying to tackle him. I don't think Kun would be as strong whereas Tevez might be and he is also pretty decent at getting back and defending. For me, Tevez playing slightly deeper than Kun with Dzeko up the very top on his own. Would be entertaining at least!

If you are going to put one of the strikers in Silva's role, it would have to be done this way because Tevez is a better defender, ball winner, and passer of the ball than Kun (which is ok, because Kun's job is to FINISH, and that's what's important).

But frankly, why do we have Nasri if not for situations like this where Silva is out and we need a creative attacking midfielder to pick up the slack?

Start with Nasri, replace him with Tevez early in the 2nd half if things aren't going our way.

Or, scrap all of that and pick two out of these guys: Milner/Kolarov/Nasri and play them out wide to provide service for Edin.

i disagree mate, theres no reson why this cant turn into a 5 man midfield when needed. tevez can play how rooney is playing at the min in the advanced midfield role but dropping on to their holding midfielder when needed. sergio wont have a problem tracking their full back and it will give the full back a lot more to think about in terms of sticking back. remember when inter battered chelsea they played pandev out wide to stop cole getting forward. worked a treat.

Here's a question for the great and the good. How many times has Dzeko scored in the first half for us?
Other than spurs away last year, I can't think of any.
He's certainly a fantatsic impact player and i'm glad Bobby now brings him on with at least 15 minutes to go, rather than 3 minutes to go as he used to.

He doesn’t get many goals in the first half to be fair but we used to score most of our goals in the 2nd half last season, I think he offers something for the other players even when he doesn’t score. Seen some stats few weeks ago and Kun scores most his goals playing with Dzeko

He defiantly deserves to be starting for us

No. We are already leaking goals at the back with 2 strikers. How bad would it be with 3? We have plenty of talent and can score regardless. Strikers can only score with the right servicen and having too many scorers and not enough servers will only mess up the chemistry of the team.

Hart
Richards Kompany Lescott Kolorov
Barry Milner
Yaya Aguero Nasri
Dzeko

------------------Hart

Richards---Rodwell--Yaya---Kolarov

------------Silva----Guidetti

-------Balotelli------Tevez-----Dzeko

----------------Aguero
