Would you report your neighbour

I’m not going to report anyone because that’s not the person I am, I wanted to know in general whether it’s best to turn a blind eye to people who you know are wrong uns.

So long as she’s only screwing the tax payer and not scamming grannies or stealing charity boxes you’re grand with her as she’s “doing right by her kid”? Have I understood that right?
If people who are on hard times were given proper help ( tax payers money ) maybe they wouldn't have to screw anyone.

I'm sure it's already been suggested, though perhaps you could make some effort to befriend said neighbour, take her a flask of tea round and have a chat.
You could then become increasingly obsessed over a number of weeks and come on here asking whether you should ask her out or not.
I think there was a very similar thread in here a while ago, though can't recall whether that ended in a blossoming relationship, or the OP locked up for stalking...

no for 3 reasons

  • I have no idea if they are defrauding the state, a few holidays and such proves nothing concrete.
  • It's none of my business if they are let the DSS do their job properly.
  • I ain't a grass unless they are a rapsist, murderer, domestic abuser or paedo

Is this doctrine the reason why you didn't tell the inspectors about the bloke wanking at old women on your tram and slapped him on the back, with a "go on, my son" instead?

What about burglars shitting people up in their own home?

Muggers?

Flashers?

People shitting through church letterboxes?

Few spelling errors that I've corrected

It's a minefield especially for a single parent trying to work to provide a bit of a better life for their kids and themselves. A lot want to work more hours but to do so will mean they lose out financially. I know of one woman who works part time as a teaching assistant. The school pestered her to do more hours and she eventually relented. Unbeknown to her this lost her more than she earned by having one of her benefits stopped because she worked ONE hour over the allowed limit. Crazy.

Tabloids like the Mail love to demonise working class people who bend the rules a bit for some much needed extra cash. We all know there are out and out lazy piss takers out there but a lot are struggling people who are desperate and trying to make ends meet. I bet there isn't anybody here who hasn't done a cash in hand job on the side, or took some pens or a bit of food or something from their place of work. I'd be highly surprised.

All this they're robbing the taxpayer etcetera, well nobody's tax has risen because of a benefit cheat. It wouldn't go down either if nobody did. The real cheats are the MPs who claim for everything they can and some things they can't, until they get caught. They are taking the piss out of the people they supposedly serve.
