It’s a great story about two Hollywood stars buying club and gradually getting that football bug and falling in love with the game!

Spending there own money to give the Wrexham fans dreams!

Well now they go in a league that make those dreams go away with control ffp and now you can’t spend what you want!

That’s the same outlook everyone has on us. Just replace Ben foster for Robinho joining us at the start of our wonderful journey. Personally I think it’s great. Good luck to em.

Yeah, but they'll have so much cash coming in from US shirt sales and sponsorship that they'll be OK to go up for a few more seasons.

That is my outlook on football in general. Money has been around for years but it is not the game I grew up loving. I know times move on and I’m an old **** but it takes the edge of it £100 million players becoming commonplace in the next five years is obscene

It's hard to pin blame though. Back in the 20's and 30's. The high point for football attendance, the cost to get in was directly pitched at being affordable for the working class men who lived and worked in walking distance of the ground. They would turn up for cheap entertainment and it would keep them out of the pub for a few hours. They generally didn't really care who won, they would probably take a 3 3 good game over a 1 nil win and the idea they would pay more for a ticket so the club could pay more to players would have been a joke.

Modern fans are obsessed with success and everyone around a club is demanding more. Its no wonder so many are basically run into the ground chasing better players on bigger wages for success on the field. And rinsing the fans becomes a necessary to survive as every other club does it.

This Wrexham story is great for the town and for lower league football, but you do wonder how long the interest will last and if the money dries up what then. And as ever, their success will be at the expense of someone else, although Wrexham do deserve a shot at the league again.
 
Just seen an advert with Ryan Reynolds and baconface for some shite friendly they’re doing.

Wrexham can fuck off for me. All getting a bit too social media hipstery. See also: Dulwich Hamlet, Stockport County.

Not really true. He had already retired at the age of 40 and came out of retirement to sign a short-term contract after Wrexham's keeper got injured. He'd also played at Wrexham before on loan.

Think its a different matter with these than say Salford. Ryan and Robs names alone drew massive sponsors in tik tok and Expedia for that level. And they've grown a sizable fanbase in the states thats buying up all the merch.

Wrexham are raking it in at the minute, especially with what disney+ are paying them, I wouldn't be surprised if they're generating more revenue than a championship side at the minute.
