Write a story in less than 500 words

As per thread title. (Idea copied from BBC radio)

RULES:-

Stories should be no more than 500 words,

It can be about anything at all.

It must be all your own words, not copied and pasted from elsewhere.

It should have a beginning, middle and end





Closing date for entries, end of September 2023

After that, a poll will be put up on here, and Blue Mooners can vote for the winner.

The winner will receive a nice trophy engraved with a plate with their name on it supplied my myself.




I will submit my own story ASAP as I am away for a day or so.

2. "with their name on it supplied my myself." Ouch! I always cringe with the increased use of "myself" in often simple situations. Surely "with their name on it supplied by me" is not only correct, but it's simpler and sounds better.
