Thought I'd set up a thread for non city chat in here as dropping news about other teams can get in the way in the other thread.

United have signed Frida Rolfo today. Pretty astute signing i reckon as it was clear they were lacking that bit of European experience when they crashed lut of the UWCL qualifiers last time. Will be interesting to see where she plays though as they already have Gabby George at LB.

I think most agree we need a new LB ourselves but I wonder if a potential move to 3 at the back has meant we we've deprioritsed that.

I hope we stuff the ragettes.

Have Chelsea rested on their laurels?

Chelsea have been less busy so far but I wouldn't say they've rested on their laurels as they did some big business in January in signing Keira Walsh and Naomi Girma. Girma was injured most of the remainder of the season so she's basically a new signing.

Plus they've brought in Ellie Carpenter from Lyon who could be regarded by many as best available RB on the market. Really good option to take over from Bronze.

They've brought Lexi Potter back from her loan at Palace who had a really good season. They also have a lot of excellent young players like Hamano, Beever Jones and Kaptein who will be wanting to up their minutes.

Women's transfer record has been broken again. No WSL teams involved this time around though as Lizbeth Ovalle moved from Mexican side Tigres UANL to Orlando Pride for £1.1m beating the recent signing by Arsenal of Olivia Smith from Liverpool just last month.

In other news: Leah Williamson & Lauren James will miss the start of the WSL campaign because of injuries picked up in the Euro's.

I loved Alanna when she was here, but it felt like her legs had gone in the last 6 months. Be interesting to see how she copes back here

Maybe that is part of it for Kennedy? The NWSL is an extremely free flowing and attacking league. There is very little of a team sitting back in a shell.

She played sixteen games with Angel City. Perhaps she also realized that it was a bit much for her legs?

Millie Bright says withdrawing from England's Euro 2025 squad was "by far the best decision I have ever made".

Sounds like she's gutted she missed out and is masking it.

I believe you are correct. Wasn't she saying after they won she would have done anything to be there?

Not having her was, in my opinion, better. I've never really rated her and at this point consider her a "has been." Of course, it may be just because I am not a fan of her at all.

I like that Esme likely got her minutes instead

That comment was about the celebration in London after the tournament.

She was good at what she was: a physically dominating presence though has her limitations in not being very quick.

It's more than that but we don't have to agree.

London City have paid a €540k release clause for Barcelona's Lucia Corrales today. They really arent messing!

I dont think they'll have enough about them to break into the top 4 this season as I think it will take a while fir them to gel etc but they absolutely have the money and the ambition to become a top WSL side.

I think Chelsea's annual budget was £11m at the start of last season and look how dominant theyve been. Those kinds of figures are absolutely attainable for someone like Michelle Kang (or any other PL team that vaguely gives a shit about making their women's side a contender).

Corrales is from Mallorca as is Mariona Caldentey. For having a population of under 500k, Mallorca doesn't do a poor job of producing female footballers.

Ex City midfielder Ruby Mace on the move. Decent fee been paid to Leicester for her.
