Thankfully, the Ragettes have given their odious manager, a new contract.
Surely a couple (they only have one or two) of their better players will leave a team that finished 20 points from only 22 games, behind City & Chelsea ?
 
Was never going to happen for them today. Losing at home to Brighton, losing at home to Arsenal when 1-0 up after 89 mins & somehow losing to a dreadful Spurs team in the FA Cup are frankly unforgivable results. That's where their season needlessly went down the toilet.

Best thing from the season is getting Hemp to sign a new contract. Otherwise it was another absolutely wasted year where a club with our resources wins bollocks all - and in this years case actively shit their own bed on the very doorstep of winning the title.

A clear out of some is needed but the manager is the biggest question - he has the distinct stench of loser about him that he needs to shake off. Like the team themselves he seems to be a soft touch and folds when the pressures on. Our Women's team have a long time to stew on that season, and they genuinely need to take a long look at themselves from top to bottom if they are serious about trying to win major pots.

But the squad has players that wouldn't make us "a soft touch", though.

That's Taylor not knowing how to actually utilise the players he has.

Everybody on here knows I think Hasegawa should be used in attacking mid with a 'minder' backing her to receive the ball from. Except Taylor is so dense he doesn't see it and plays our, technically, most gifted player deeper than what makes her most useful.

Pretty sure she was touted as an 'amazing dribbler' in some blurb I read about her, so why would you want to waste that talent in a DM position??! The dense tw@ hasn't even tried to push her further up and use other midfielders/ CBs as a DM. That would cut the "soft touch" you speak of.

What a tw@ Taylor is.

No she didn't. There was consensus that the red cards were incorrect, particularly Greenwood's, but the time management was fine.

Bloody annoying we didn't chase goals in the first half. Scraping a win wasn't going to get us close to goal difference appeasement. Bringing Houghton on so early in the 2nd half was an admission of chances all faded. At 1-0, if City had chased goals, maybe, just maybe Old Trafford may have hears the score and Chelsea may have felt less relaxed. But... we blew it against Arsenal at home and left the door gaping open for Chelsea.

Our injuries tainted a league run, with no room to drop 2 points, let alone 3. It is what it is. Next.
 
If there’s one thing that’s clear, it is that we’ve got a good team, but nothing much behind it, as yet. Bunny being out meant that we didn’t have the muscle up front that worries defences to death. The girls have done very well, despite the bitter disappointment, and they’ll come again.
 
Squad was too small. Rood's injury meant Park replacing her when she was also the wide forward cover. So when Shaw was out there was nothing left as a bench option.

Other than that, for all the crap one-off refereeing performance home to Chelsea, for the crap fuck up at home v Brighton - all we had to do was not let two goals in v Arsenal after the 89th minute.

A draw would have been enough.

Yes Taylor could have tried to change things, but had few options and the players have to take an amount of the blame for it too. Too many started hiding and not wanting the ball, when we just desperately needed the ball in the Arsenal half for a few minutes.

As I remember (not too well), she conjured up 8 mins from somewhere and played until 113 mins…. well over allotted time. The referee was disgraceful. City were robbed that day.

The way we were playing meant it was stupidity to keep the 4 forward thinking players on the pitch and we had plenty of defensive options on the bench. The reason perhaps that Taylor didn't use them was that none of them had had much game time in previous weeks. Also a fault of his management in not utilising the squad. Can you see Pep not giving minutes to players from the bench to keep them invlved or in case they might be needed?

Absolutely. And they cannot hide from the impact this shit leaves. No matter what the history books will record, this humiliation cancels out the Cup. Their campaign closes in negativity, with a very bad taste...

There were further delays during stoppage time. Not least of these was Alana Kennedy's treatment, but Guro Reiten also required help from the physios in added time.

There were 5 minutes and 4 seconds of stoppage time remaining when the ball went out to play and the game was stopped so Kennedy could receive attention. Whether her treatment lasted 15 seconds or 15 minutes, there would still be 5 minutes and 4 seconds to be played when the game restarted so the final tally shown by the on screen clock, which keeps running during stoppages, is certain to be inaccurate. In fact, Chelsea's equaliser came within 10 seconds of the restart, so well within the allotted time added.

Of course I didn't remember all of this in full detail so I had a quick look on YouTube after reading your comment.
