Part 3 of 4 in a row.
I think winning it would be a statement ahead of Thursday though.I’m not in any way suggesting this doesn’t matter, but I’d trade a loss here for going through next Thursday, if offered.
Yes, if we have anyone in doubt, don’t pick them tomorrow, is I suppose what I was thinking.I think winning it would be a statement ahead of Thursday though.
It will be interesting to see who is picked/available.

I'd like a win also but it is difficult to beat a team three times in a row if both are fairly similar quality.I think winning it would be a statement ahead of Thursday though.

We don't need to win on Thursday, we could even afford a small defeat.I'd like a win also but it is difficult to beat a team three times in a row if both are fairly similar quality.
That's annoying for both her and the club, we really could do with her firing on all cylinders. Ah well, will just have to adapt, again.Just heard off someone that it's a hamstring for Bunny and a few weeks out. Uff.
Very well summed up in my opinion.I just don't think we have the luxury of approaching it like that.
I think the heart says going through on Thurs would feel a bigger achievement, but the head says the best chance of being in the CL next season remains finishing top 3. It would also inflict a lot of damage on United or Arsenal to miss out in our place. With players such as Shaw, Fowler and Roord in the final year of their contracts next season, it's really important we finish this season on a high and are playing in the CL next year.
For me, we just have prioritse whatever the next game is in front of us. Play our strongest team tomorrow and go for the win. Especially as Chelsea will be resting people and vulnerable. Then we assess things again before Thursday depending on everyone's fitness.
Like someone else said, a win tomorrow would give us a fair bit of momentum heading into Thursday anyway.
You don't need a win on Thursday, but you do need to qualify for next season's Champions League. I think Cushing will push hard for the win today. Bear in mind that he will have watched all of Chelsea's recent performances, and at first-hand over the last week. He can have no reason to doubt his team's chances of winning today AND of getting the result they need in the second leg of the Champions League tie. He'll only rest players today if absolutely necessary. Bompastor, on the other hand, has no choice but to prioritise the midweek fixture.I'd like a win also but it is difficult to beat a team three times in a row if both are fairly similar quality.
I agree, if we can hold our own midweek we will go through. You will win the league this season anyway but as you say we really have to win today to stand a chance of finishing top 3.You don't need a win on Thursday, but you do need to qualify for next season's Champions League. It does make me smile all the ways you'll find to refer to the other team with Manchester in its name. Me, I laugh uncontrollably every time Spurs lose. When they lose to Chelsea I laugh for a month. I have had to come to terms with the fact that it makes me happy when bad things happen to Tottenham Hotspur. It's part of being a football fan but it has its down sides. I was deeply depressed when Spurs won at The Bridge in 2018. Their first away win against Chelsea for 28 years. That long unbeaten record was my most treasured football experience. Having it taken away genuinely hurt.I agree, if we can hold our own midweek we will go through. You will win the league this season anyway but as you say we really have to win today to stand a chance of finishing top 3.
Arsenal had a decent win yesterday and I can't see Leigh sports village dropping any points today. After our early season form we can't afford to drop anymore points and are relying on others to do so.
Been so unlucky with injuries this seasonJust heard off someone that it's a hamstring for Bunny and a few weeks out. Uff.
