Might we play Stones at right back? I have noticed that he has been in training for quite some while. A key outcome of this CWC would be to see if Stones can prove his fitness. If fit he is a wonderful player. He had that foot injury last season and that might be a one off.

Nunes, though much improved is not a defender imo. I could be wrong about that as he really did improve a lot as the season progressed.

Being honest I couldn’t give a fuck about this game or the competition. Summer for me is golf and cricket and I have zero interest in a made up tournament run by an inept and corrupt authorities. I hope the whole thing crashes and burns and FIFA or whoever organises it LOOK LIKE UTTER DICKS

Probably want to knock football on the head then mate. FIFA, UEFA and the Premier League are all as bad as each other

My guess for the line up tonight leaves out all those who've been on international duty this month but there's still no room for Gundo - so if any of my starting selection played for their country in June please let me know ;-)

Can’t see Pep starting with both Reis and Khusanov. The CM would consist of non international players in Rodri and Gonzalez.
Echeverri at the 10 and then 3 players who had time off.
Hopefully enough to score the first and then the game should be open up

I feel Reijnders, Ait-Nouri (surely against national neighbours), Marmoush gonna start.

It shows we have strong squad now. Not to mention we have Kovacic and McAtee. 2/3 gonna depart, probably therein McAtee, maybe Gundo, but generally it looks very promising.
 
Actually excited . Feels like new season , not the fag end of the last one.
Sunshine, new players on show, exciting ones at that.
This would be big tournament to win in my opinion. Sure the owner will want it to.

Speak for yourself. I'm looking forward to seeing how our new players do and how we perform as a team. New tactics and formations from last season with more energy and drive. Exciting times ahead.

Probably our strongest team on paper with usual caveat about who is our best RB option.

It depends what Pep has seen in training though as the reality could be quite different. I’ve heard Echeverri has done extremely well for example.
 
Well excited for this me! New signings, playing a team we've never heard of in a new competition buzzing me!

A few seem to have travelled if this video ( below) was last night. I’m not sure as the video says something about 2005 but it’s only just been uploaded. They have the reputation of top 5 loudest fans in the World. I think Besiktas were number 1.

I expect the starting line up will look very familiar, with the new players being introduced gradually. The Juventus match will be when we see something like our strongest starting 11
