This is not how the club, the manager and the players see the CWC.

We had a similar problem with the CL: the team sees the CL as a top competition, parts of the fan base couldn't connect with that.

This tournament isn't slightly more than several preseason friendlies. We want to win it and rightly so. A semi vs. PSG or Inter (CL winners) and a final vs. Real or Bayern would be fantastic for the club.

like this game or especially the game between two weaker sides in groups like Wydad vs Al Ain.

if we win our group we face 2nd of this other group. if we are second inn our group we face 1st of that group aka Real Madrid already in 1/16 final. we cannot avoid them at CL since years and now here as well?

make it nice City-Salzburg and Real-Juventus. and then in QF its gonna be Inter and Inzaghi , repeat or CL final 2023.

I remember hearing that FIFA's bright idea for increasing sales was to offer tickets to the World Cup Final for anyone who bought tickets to 20 CWC games. Which let's be honest, suggests that sales aren't going too well.

The first European Cup didn't even have an english team in it. Look at it now.
Same with the World Cup. The only 4 European teams in the first tournament were Romania, Yugoslavia, Belgium and France.
I'm not overly happy with the amount of teams in the current Champions league or the devaluation of the FA cup.
Its just the way things are going and we either go along with it or stagnate.
Its probably better to be playing this than those meaningless friendly pre season tournaments

In the UK fans, particularly of the clubs not in it, think the former. It’s the latter.

It’s nowhere near the standard of the CL but it’s definitely worth winning.

believe me clubs and owners very happy to get all the extra revenue from the bloated CL and this CWC as well.

Probably one of the reasons it's in the States......there's more people living there from the countries the teams represent than anywhere else in the world, except their 'home' country. The second being there is more 'untapped' money to be made from Americans, than anywhere else in the world, if or likely when, they can get them into football ;)

Which would be in USA but for a lot less money, how much would utd pool and arsenal get for there pre season friendly games, a lot less then we will get for being there every team gets 50 million to start with

It’s City playing a footy match so you probably will care when they start to play.

I’d watch even without City just to see the other teams from all over the World like Boca and River Plate. I get that might just be me though.
