Kick off time 17:00 (BST).

I know it's miles away, so enjoy the 24 day break but its a place for those that don't want the break.

Being played in Philadelphia.

I haven't a clue who will be involved and I haven't a clue how seriously the club and Pep will take it. Even half arsing it we should get out of the group.

There is an international break from the 2nd-10th June so some of the lads might not get any break until after the tournament. I think Pep will rotate a lot and Juventus on the 26th June is the harder game to target.

For generic CWC talk use this thread:

Pep needs to work on the new system and tactics and use it as a pre season for new season, as we likely not gonna have extra friendlies before the PL starts as long as we are in CWC until semis or final. maybe one game somewhere 1 week before Pl start but most of squad will not be ready.

schedule is nightmare for a proper pre season and especially for the much needed relax players would need now, but we have to makethe most of it, get as much prize money from it as we can and put it back into the squad.

Ederson
Nunes
Khusanov
Dias
O’Reilly
Nico
Kovacic
Echeverri
Savinho
Marmoush
Doku

Hopefully we get Reijnders and a couple more sewn up before we go. Rodri to start against Juventus.

Can’t wait for this. Flying out on the 14th. This is what I’ve always dreamt of doing, following City around a foreign country.

We shouldn’t be playing in this. Our players need a looooong break. They are exhausted. It’s time someone said enough is enough. IMHO
We absolutely should be playing this, it will be the biggest competition in club football.

The club should be able manage player fatigue and rest with this in mind. If that means giving players a few weeks off mid season then we should do this. But we should be fully committed to this competition.

Whilst I basically agree with you, and the players do need a good rest .... the reality is that the club simply AREN'T gonna turn their noses up at a potential 94m jackpot should they win the competition, or the global exposure that participating in such a tournament will bring.

The days when players got 2-3 months off to recouperate have long since gone I'm afraid .... mind you Jack Grealish has probably spent that long on the bench this season, and so have Ake and Stones in the treatment room!

We have to agree to disagree. The biggest competition is the Premier League. In my opinion. :-)

The money that is available its absolutely astonishing,I think every club in this tournament will be out to win it.

Absolutely. To win it would be incredible on so many fronts.

When the European Cup first started, only the likes of Real Madrid and a few others took it seriously.

Turned out okay for them...
