It's embarrassing how the UK sports media is downplaying this tournament. It will be very different next time as the Dips maybe in it.

Most games are to be played in the dead of night here on weekdays too. There's not going to be much of a UK audience tuning into Al ahly vs inter Miami at 1am. It's a new format and they're marketing it as a highly prestigious compeititon with a lot of prize money and so tv rights will not be cheap. It makes total sense the bbc would pass on it this time and wait.

I think there is a grain of truth in the original post. You only have to look at when BBC have bothered to broadcast the (modern) World Club Championship. I'll give you a clue: it was when Liverpool were involved.

If we weren't in it I am sure our attitude would be it's a crock of shit. Just FIFA and Infantino flexing their muscles. Another step on the way to a world super league or something. Will be held wherever the money is probably Saudi or China.
